I kind if like the name [name_u]Hilary[/name_u], but I know someone with the name, and I also find it a bit too dated. So, recently I found a great alternative: [name_f]Alair[/name_f]! It’s a fresh new variation with, like the Nameberry page for it says, Tons of [name_f]Flair[/name_f]! But my only issue, [name_m]Will[/name_m] people Think it’s a misspelt version of [name_u]Adair[/name_u], of [name_u]Blair[/name_u]? Should this name stand on it’s own, or does it look too misspelt to you? Tell me what you think!
I’ve known of [name_f]Alair[/name_f] way before I discovered [name_u]Adair[/name_u], and have always thought it was a very pretty name. Frankly, I don’t think anyone will mistake it for [name_u]Adair[/name_u], which isn’t very well known to the general public, and even though it sounds like [name_u]Blair[/name_u], it’s worth the possible confusion : )
[name_f]Alair[/name_f] looks made-up to me (even if it’s not actually a new invention). I would prefer [name_u]Adair[/name_u] or [name_u]Blair[/name_u].
I didn’t think that [name_f]Alair[/name_f] is misspelled. I actually prefer [name_f]Alair[/name_f] to [name_u]Hillary[/name_u], but I still think [name_f]Alair[/name_f] sounds kind of awkward.
I don’t think [name_f]Alair[/name_f] looks misspelt; I think people might pause and ask spelling, though (ie, Allair or Alare…) but you’ll get that on any unusual name.
Personally, I think [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] or [name_m]Alaric[/name_m], so it’s too masculine for my tastes.
