We still have a few weeks until he is due, so we will see if we change our minds before then. We have had such a difficult time settling on the first name that we haven’t even begun to tackle the middle. For reference, our other three children are:

Ideally I wanted to somehow honor my family with the fourth one, but we cannot come up with a combo we both like. [name]Alistair[/name] contains my maiden name. Plus I love it. That would be my pick. DH strongly dislikes [name]August[/name] [name]Alistair[/name]. WDYT?
Other family names that have meaning to me are [name]Miller[/name] and [name]Kenneth[/name]. I just don’t love either with [name]August[/name].
We are also considering forgetting about trying to incorporate a family name and just pick a combination we like. In that case - I am open to any suggestions. I like [name]August[/name] [name]Henry[/name], but I would love to hear suggestions of one syllable middle names.
I think [name]August[/name] [name]Miller[/name] sounds very good-- distinguished without being pretentious, and it’s a nice match for your other sons’ names. ([name]Leo[/name] [name]Miller[/name] would work well too, if you went that route).
I’m not sure what your maiden name is, but would [name]August[/name] Starlin be of interest? (Starlin is a variant of [name]Starling[/name]/[name]Sterling[/name], and is the name of a baseball player for the Chicago Cubs).
Otherwise, I think a 1-syllable name would be best, since your other sons have one as well ([name]Jon[/name], [name]Luke[/name], [name]Grey[/name], [name]Jude[/name]…)
