We are trying to find a middle name for [name]Claire[/name]. Our last name starts with “C” , is 3 syllables, and is very, very French sounding. I was thinking that it should be 2 or 3 syllables. I don’t really care about the origins of the name or the language , but we would like to give [name]Claire[/name] a name with a strong meaning. Thanks for your input!

Dantea gave you some very wonderful suggestions! I have always had a thing for [name]Claire[/name] [name]Anneliese[/name] myself
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is a beautiful combo.
I Originally suggested [name]Claire[/name] [name]Elspeth[/name], which was shot down , as was [name]Elizabeth[/name].
DH likes [name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Victoria[/name].
I want her to have something classic but stylish too. I feel like maybe we are going too “girly”. Having picked a name with no nm and one that is very feminine I don’t want to have a tomboy with name she hates because we went to feminine.
DH tells me that I am stressing for no reason ! I am probably over thinking this but I want her to have a name she’ll love and be proud of. Is claire too plain? So far it is the only name that DH and I have agreed on !
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Claire[/name] [name]Anneliese[/name]

I’ve loved [name]Claire[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] for forever, and I quite like [name]Claire[/name] [name]Rebecca[/name] and [name]Claire[/name] [name]Annika[/name]. If [name]Claire[/name] was still a FN on my list, I probably would have used one of those three combos.

Names are fairly permanent, so its understandable to be anxious about naming someone who’s personality you haven’t really gotten to experience yet. All kids go through a phase were they experiment with different nicknames anyway; its part of growing up and finding their own identity. She might hate her name one day and love it the next. Pick a name you love and that has meaning to you and hope that one day it will have meaning to her too, and don’t worry too much.
I think [name]Claire[/name] is very pretty and not too plain at all.
What about [name]Claire[/name] [name]Alice[/name]?
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] is beautiful. DH just said " wow"
To me, [name]Claire[/name] is not plain at all! With its three consonants, I find it substantial and gorgeous. The name suggests class and sophistication to me. (It is one of my very favorite names, but it was out of the question for me to use, because it’s my twin sister’s middle name, and she used it for her daughter.)
I am so glad you have found a winning combination in [name]Claire[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]!
I [name]Love[/name] the name [name]Claire[/name]! I think [name]Claire[/name] [name]Louise[/name] is a good name.
