We want to use [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] to honor a family member, but we are playing around with other ideas too. I find [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] sort of boring and similar to my daughter’s MN ([name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].) It’s pretty but predictable.
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] — a mouthful?
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] — honors family, but also predictable?
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] & [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] are both beautiful! [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is pretty, too:)
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is lovely and sweet. [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is never boring to me -it’s one of my favourite classic names!
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is my fave (: I don’t think [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is too much of a mouthful at all! Maybe [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]/Katerine?
We did consider [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], but thought they took away from the sort of timeless sounding [name_f]Fiona[/name_f].
That is interesting, I’ve never really thought of [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] as timeless, where as I could picture a [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]/[name_f]Kate[/name_f] from any era! I think if timeless is what your going for, [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] from your list would be your best bets as middles
Well, I said the sound of [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] is timeless, at least in my opinion — e.g. no -lyn, -lee, mad-, -den, -son, etc. sounds. While [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] is very 80’s/90’s to me, maybe because that is when I was growing up. In my head it’s like pairing [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Brianna[/name_f]…it clashes stylistically (at least imo.)
Oh yay, I love [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]! [name_m]Favorite[/name_m] name of all time. I absolutely agree that it’s timeless.
I think [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] sounds fine, but I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] (I actually had that in my signature for a long time). [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is lovely too. I’m not wild about [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], because it is a bit awkward to say. And yeah, [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is a little predictable, although it does sound good.
My preferences, in order:
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] (stunning, youthful, fun)
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] (lovely, feels more classic)
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] (has a good balance)
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] (gives it a [name_m]French[/name_m] vibe)
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
I love the name [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], so pretty and playful. [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is a family name for me too, so I am always trying to come up with new ways to honor the Katherines in my family. Here are some ideas:
[name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Katie[/name_f]
[name_f]Kathy[/name_f]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u]
[name_f]Kat[/name_f]
[name_f]Kitty[/name_f]
From your other options my favorite is [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], fallowed by [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f].
