MN for Georgina, nn Georgie

[name]Hi[/name] Again,
So I have a previous post asking about changing our current front-runner baby girl name from [name]Margot[/name] [name]Bertrice[/name] to [name]Georgina[/name] (nn [name]Georgie[/name]). The problem is this: This will be our last child, and if it is a girl, I would really [name]LOVE[/name] to have some part of her name come from my side. However, I’m stuck trying to find a mn that sounds good with [name]Georgina[/name], nn [name]Georgie[/name]. I would love to hear any suggestions you have. Here are the names from my side: [name]Jan[/name], [name]Lillian[/name], [name]Bertrice[/name], [name]Ella[/name], [name]Viola[/name], DeMerle, [name]Nell[/name], [name]Josephine[/name]/[name]Claudia[/name]. I’m hoping someone out there can come up with something that sounds good. This is really important to me. Thanks for your assistance.

Not to confuse you further (I must have missed your previous post), but I much prefer [name]Margo[/name] to [name]Georgina[/name], and I think it goes better with your middle name ideas as well as sibling [name]Harold[/name].
If you do decide to go with [name]Georgina[/name], [name]Georgina[/name] [name]Bertrice[/name] and [name]Georgina[/name] [name]Lillian[/name] aren’t bad, if a little old-ladyish. [name]Georgina[/name] DeMerle could go either way, depending on your last name. If you mix it up a bit, [name]Georgina[/name] [name]Violette[/name] is lovely and [name]Georgina[/name] [name]Claudine[/name] likewise. I’d advise against using J- middle names with [name]Georgina[/name], because the g/j clashes a bit.

Thanks Bibliophile. I still haven’t fully committed to changing from [name]Margo[/name] to [name]Georgina[/name], yet. (The hard to find MN is a big issue.) And I still seriously [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Margo[/name], and I think you are right, [name]Margo[/name] does go better with our MN options. Would you mind sharing with me why YOU prefer [name]Margo[/name] to [name]Georgina[/name]? [name]Just[/name] curious.

P.S. [name]Georgina[/name] [name]Violette[/name] is really lovely.

I do love [name]Margo[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name], but if you’re changing it, the ones you have that fit the best [name]IMO[/name] are [name]Georgina[/name] [name]Bertrice[/name], [name]Georgina[/name] [name]Lillian[/name], and [name]Georgina[/name] [name]Viola[/name] (my favorite).

If you’d like, you can find a name with [name]Nell[/name]/[name]Nel[/name] in it and use it to honor the [name]Nell[/name] (like [name]Penelope[/name]). If you don’t want to do that, just ignore these suggestions :P.
Some ideas:

[name]Georgina[/name] [name]Arnelle[/name] (eagle)
[name]Georgina[/name] [name]Fenella[/name] (fair, blond)
[name]Georgina[/name] Nellwyn ([name]Nellie[/name]'s friend)
[name]Georgina[/name] Ornella (flowering ash tree)

Thanks [name]Dantae[/name]! [name]Persephone[/name] is just beautiful! Very creative with the MN suggestions too. [name]Happy[/name] you like [name]Margo[/name] [name]Bertrice[/name] too!

What’s the surname’s first initial and how many syllables does it have? I wouldn’t want to make any middle name suggestions that spell anything ([name]Georgina[/name] [name]Ella[/name] [name]Tyler[/name] - GET). I’d also vary the # of syllables it has to vary the sound and not make it monotone ([name]Georgina[/name] [name]Viola[/name] [name]Anderson[/name] - 3-3-3). I’d at least avoid another 3 syllable middle name. More info would be appreciated.

You may also want to look at the Nameberry lists and go under Middle Names as well as I believe Sounds to come up with other ideas. Congratulations on your upcoming baby.

I love [name]Margo[/name] because it’s simple, but effortlessly elegant. While other names float through trends and eventually will feel outdated (like, one could argue, [name]Georgina[/name]), [name]Margo[/name] is just one of those names that doesn’t go out of style. It’s also very versatile, and will pretty much pair beautifully with middle and last names of all cultures and styles.
If you’re still passionate about [name]Georgina[/name], you could always have two middle names. I think [name]Margo[/name] [name]Bertrice[/name] [name]Georgine[/name] (or [name]Margo[/name] [name]Georgine[/name] [name]Bertrice[/name]) works wonderfully.
I hope I’ve been of assistance!

I would suggest for a [name]Georgina[/name] MN:

[name]Faye[/name]
[name]Skye[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Celine[/name]

[name]Georgina[/name] [name]Melisande[/name]

Thanks Bibliophile! Yes, that was very helpful. I was sort of worried about the same thing myself. I think we are going to stay with [name]Margo[/name] [name]Bertrice[/name]. And hopefully we will find out the sex ASAP, so we can share the name with friends and family and I can stop all this second-guessing! I appreciate your help.

Decided [name]Georgina[/name] isn’t for us. Thanks for your help!
