MN for Lilah

Hello!
My husband and I just recently decided on the name [name]Lilah[/name] (pr. [name]Lyla[/name]) for our baby girl due in February. It’s been his top pick for a long time and I’ve been turned off by it because of the popularity/possible trendiness issue. However, I decided to take the name at face value and decide how I felt about it based solely on the name itself, not the popularity of it. And what do you know… I [name]LOVE[/name] IT! It’s such a beautiful name and I honestly can’t imagine our baby girl as anyone else now! I’m pretty set on the “unecessary” L spelling just because I love how it looks but it hasn’t been set in stone.

Anyways… we don’t have a middle name chosen yet and I’m curious what you all think of our current considerations. We’re not using any family names, just names we like. Our last name is one syllable so I would like a three syllable middle name. Something classic seems really fitting.

[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Juliet/name- I really love French names so considering the French spelling
[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]

Also, if you have other suggestions: no “A” names please. Her intitials would not turn out well

Thank you!

I like [name]Lilah[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]! They have the same feel to them.
Good choices!

I like the SOUND of [name]Lilah[/name] [name]Penelope[/name] better, but I like the look and sweetness of [name]Lilah[/name] [name]Juliette[/name]. I think my vote is for the latter. [name]Lilah[/name] [name]Juliette[/name] looks romantic and classy.

[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Juliette[/name]

[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Juliette[/name]! [name]Penelope[/name] makes the name sound trendier, and [name]Caroline[/name] (which I love) has that repeated “lye” sound. I’d spell it the French way - it gives the name a more balanced look, and I actually pronounce them slightly differently. [name]Lilah[/name] JOO-lee-et vs [name]Lilah[/name] joo-lee-ET. If that makes any sense.

[name]Lilah[/name] is a lovely name, it was on my short list for a long time but I have nieces named [name]Kayla[/name] and [name]Layla[/name] so [name]Lilah[/name] is out. Lol. Combos I considered were
[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Jewel[/name]
[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Rose[/name]

[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] is pretty. I prefer [name]Juliet[/name] with one t, it just looks more refined to me. [name]Lilah[/name] [name]Juliette[/name] is nice as well.

I agree that [name]Lilah[/name] [name]Juliette[/name] is the best of your options.

[name]Lilah[/name] is a beautiful choice! Out of your choices I think I like [name]Lilah[/name] [name]Juliette[/name]. So pretty. But all are nice choices! [name]Lilah[/name] [name]Maude[/name] would be another suggestion as that was a combo I loved but my husband vetoed name…

I love [name]Penelope[/name]! And I strongly feel that people should only use it in either name position if they have a one syllable last name. My last name is 3, so I’m out :frowning:

[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Penelope[/name] is gorgeous but I’m in love with [name]Caroline[/name] as well. All of your choices are lovely. I’ve never gotten into the [name]Juliet/name craze so that would be the one I’d rule out.

Yell them out like little [name]Lilah[/name] is in trouble! Ha, that’s what I do

[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Juliette[/name]! So pretty!

[name]Lilah[/name] is beautiful! I don’t really like any of those middles, though. Here are some other Greek choices to supplant [name]Penelope[/name]:

[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Ariadne[/name] (my favorite- too bad A names are ruled out!)
[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Hyacinth[/name]
[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Magdalena[/name]
[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Corisande[/name]
[name]Lilah[/name] [name]Calliope[/name]

I also like the sound of [name]Lilah[/name] [name]Saffron[/name].

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Lilah[/name] [name]Ariadne[/name]! Unfortunately, our last name starts with a G and there are just so many not very nice 3 letter words that end in [name]AG[/name] :frowning: Thank you everyone for your opinions/suggestions. I think we will go with [name]Lilah[/name] [name]Juliette[/name], but will probably wait until we meet her to decide for sure. You’re all wonderful!
