I’ve recently added Amélie to my list, but I’m absolutely stumped for a MN. Any MN ideas, Berries? I’m tossing around Amélie [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] and Amélie [name_f]Iris[/name_f], which honor my sister and mom respectively, but I’m not sure of either of them, and I have no other ideas! I tossed around Amélie Cécile (too [name_m]French[/name_m]?), Amélie [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] (too boring?), Amélie [name_u]Everly[/name_u] (too rhymey?), but don’t like them nearly as much as [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] or [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. I like Amélie [name_f]Claire[/name_f] a lot, but I do two middles, and I don’t know where I’d go from there. And Amélie [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and Amélie [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] don’t have that same sweet, chic [name_m]French[/name_m] feel to me.
What MN would you use for Amélie? (And, out of curiosity, how would you say Amélie? A wee bit of market research. :))
Thanks, @ljdmc! I’m actually looking for a middle name for Amélie, rather than a nickname. I already have several nns I like for Amélie ([name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_f]Amie[/name_f], maybe even [name_f]Lily[/name_f]).
Thanks, @mizuiro507! [name_u]Joan[/name_u] could work, but I generally use the second middle name to honor family, and those names are generally one syllable ([name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]/[name_u]Rue[/name_u], etc.), so I try to avoid one-syllable first middle names. I surprisingly really like Amélie [name_u]Joan[/name_u], though! I am generally not a [name_u]Joan[/name_u] fan, so I really didn’t expect to. But it is really lovely.
I think Amélie [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is my only serious option right now, but I don’t like it in full anywhere near as much as I like just Amélie [name_f]Iris[/name_f], or Amélie [name_f]Claire[/name_f]…
