We love the name [name]Hadassah[/name] both for it’s origin and especially because the meaning “myrtle tree” has great significance to us…see [name]Isaiah[/name] 41:19 and [name]Isaiah[/name] 55:13 for more background if you are interested. We have a tradition of using 2 first names and a middle name in our family. I love this tradition and want it to continue. We have a short list but I was just wondering what names would you put with [name]Hadassah[/name]? We love classic names, French names, and sweet. Originally I thought we would do a double H for the first names but after scouring H lists there was only one we liked and it wasn’t a major contender. This is the most specific I’ve been with names we like because we find it very personal so if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all . Thanks.
Some names we have considered are
[name]Noemi[/name]
[name]Simone[/name]
[name]Adelais[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]
Miette
[name]Sofia[/name]/[name]Sophia[/name] (is there a more correct spelling?)
[name]Honor[/name]
Joelie (spelling this way vs. [name]Joli[/name] because we prefer the meaning).
Two first names and a middle… does that mean you’ll call her by both names? [name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Noemi[/name], for example? I think that’s a bit long for a first name… Anyway, from your list, I really like [name]Noemi[/name], [name]Simone[/name], and [name]Sophia[/name] (both are correct, [name]Sophia[/name]'s more the English spelling). What about:
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Miriam[/name] (seems a bit religious together, but it was my first thought and I really like [name]Miriam[/name])
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Mireille[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Camille[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Leonie[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
We do like [name]Juliet[/name] however I can’t get over the meaning being so fluffy-youthful. Meirelle is similar to some names on our longer list. We would probably use a nickname for both first names. I say two first names because that works on paperwork whereas two middle names does not. Thanks for the suggestions.
any other suggestions?
[name]How[/name] about:
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Rachel[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Verity[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Faye[/name]/ [name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Faith[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Eve[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Mabel[/name]
Thanks for these ideas. It’s really interesting to me that [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Sadie[/name] are here. My sister and cousin each used one of those. [name]Ester[/name] and [name]Hadassah[/name] are names for the same person in the Bible so it feels a little too connected for me. My mom loves [name]Verity[/name] but just don’t even though we do really like some virtue names.
I keep thinking that the middle name should be 2 syllables because [name]Hadassah[/name] is 3 and then the third middle name would be 3 or 4. But I keep coming back to [name]Juliet[/name] too because I love it even thougFuh I’m not sure about the meaning. Somehow when I hear myself calling the name it sounds right with the nn. Haddie [name]Lu[/name] or Haddie [name]Lee[/name]. I think the [name]Lee[/name] could come from [name]Juliet[/name]. My husband and I are not fond of [name]Louise[/name] though. Funny I think we’ve discussed all these suggestions.
The names I keep coming back to are [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Simone[/name], and [name]Sofia[/name]. [name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Simone[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Sofia[/name]…My husband really likes [name]Noemi[/name] and I like what it means. I just feel a bit perplexed.
I like [name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Noemie[/name] (I prefer this spelling and the French pron. with 3 syllables for flow) quite a bit. [name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Adelais[/name] might merit the nn Haddie [name]Addie[/name] which is not great in my opinion. I also like [name]Hadassah[/name] Joelie but again, I’d use a three-syllable pronunciation (same as [name]Noemie[/name] pronouncing both the -Oh- and the -Eh- sounds).
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Adelais[/name] might merit the nn Haddie [name]Addie[/name]- good point we hadn’t thought of that
I noticed you added an e to the end of [name]Noemi[/name], is that a more correct pronounciation in French? [name]Both[/name] seem to be legitimate spellings. We would use the 3 syllable pronounciation.
[name]Hadassah[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Noemi[/name]
or Haddassah [name]Noemi[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] are our top contenders but [name]Simone[/name], [name]Victoria[/name] and [name]Sofia[/name] are still in the running for middle names.
