DH is Greek and therefore we must name our son after his father, Marinos. Our last name is 12 letters, 3 syllables and looks horrible on paper. I am at a loss for first name, the name that we will actually call him.
We have considered [name]Jacob[/name], [name]Leo[/name], [name]Simon[/name], [name]Thomas[/name] but none are winning. We like traditional and no more than 2 syllables. If it’s a Greek name as well, even better!
It’s not Greek (I don’t think) but it’s a great name and I think the sounds would flow well with the middle name. Also, it has a sharpness to it that seems like it would offset a long and complicated (and possibly s heavy?) middle and last name.
Finally, if he’s frustrated with learning/ teaching others how to spell and/or pronounce his last name, he can find some solace in going by the short and familiar [name]Vic[/name].
Definitely a relatively short, well-known first name where the spelling is a no-brainer. As Jlm suggested, [name]Victor[/name] would sound especially nice! Alternatively, [name]David[/name].
