Mobile version getting worse and worse

Hello,
I have enjoyed this website and forum for a long time, bit in the last few weeks the mobile version has become almost unusable for me.

  1. The search tool dissapeared from the sidebar, so I had to find it in the menu. Not the end of the world except that the menu stays up the whole time so it thinks I am clicking different things when I am trying to search.
  2. The search option is now gone from the menu so I am unable to search.
  3. I am unable to add any names to my lists. When I click ‘add to my list’ there is no longer a drop down menu of my lists, it just tries to make a new list every time.
  4. Whenever I try to type something in the forum the menu pops up in from the entire time, so I am unable to see the what I am writing. If I need to fix something I wrote it tries to bring me to differebt areas of the site via the menu.

Can anyone shed some light on this? If I cant keep using my list then I will have to switch to a different site, which is a shame because I like this one.

I haven’t been using mobile, but I have been having the same issue with adding to lists on my computer. I’d also love to know what’s going on.

Meanwhile, to work around it I have been going to my lists, scrolling to the bottom and clicking ‘edit this list’. Then scroll down to the bottom again and you can type in new names and choose which gender they’re for. It’s not the most convenient but it does work. I hope this helps and keeps you on the site until someone who knows more can reply :slight_smile:

I can no longer access Nameberry from any device but my laptop. I receive error messages on my phone and tablet.

Yep, I can no longer use the advanced search filter on my kindle. It works on my laptop, though.

When did this start? Is it something that’s been happening since the site update, or before?

Could I also ask what devices/browsers you’re all using? Have you installed all the latest updates on both?

Exact same issues here too. I’m on mobile. I’ve been on NB for years now and never had problems, it’s only been since the update.

I can’t access the advanced name search on a desktop computer using Chrome as my browser… I genuinely thought it had been removed until I saw this thread! This has only been since the update

OK, the advanced search function has now been added to the mobile site (in the dropdown menu, top left), and the user lists issue has been fixed.

@miakate There should be no issue with Advanced Search on desktop… It’s a written link (pale grey) right next to the search box at the top of the page. Can you not see that? Could you attach a screenshot of what you do see on the homepage?

I noticed today that the advanced search is not working for me (on my laptop and mobile). I can see the link but it brings me to the “search baby names by letter” page. Also when I click on one letter I can see a link with refine search, but that one just brings me back to the search baby names by letter page

@rouverture I missed this, apologies. Is this still happening? All seems to be working fine my end. I’m hoping it was a temporary glitch?

It seems to work on my phone now! I’ll check my laptop later. Maybe it was indeed a temporary glitch :slight_smile:

update: it does not work on my laptop

I’ve been having similar issues. If I click on the search (top right corner), the left menu glitches/drops down over it (from the top left corner).

The left menu also does this if I’m scrolling downwards on my phone. (I use a Samsung galaxy).

On mobile, I can’t hit menu to be able to log on so I can’t get onto my account at all. I will press the menu button but it just doesn’t work. I use an iphone/safari.

@auroracallista Any way you could try on Chrome or another browser, so we can identify where the glitch is? I use Chrome on an iPhone and the menu is working normally for me at the moment.
