Hey! I am still searching for a name for if this baby is a girl. We are sorted on our boy’s name. We are struggling to find and agree on a name that we both love and would use.
The name we like the most is [name]Cassidy[/name] but we have had quite alot of mixed feedback because it can be a boy’s name too. Although we have never met anyone or known of anyone with a son named [name]Cassidy[/name]. Have you?
Anyway we seem to love modern and trendy names (our 2 year old is called [name]Sienna[/name]) and any suggestions would be great as we cannot come up with anything new!
Other names we like:
[name]Ariella[/name]
[name]Milena[/name]
[name]Milly[/name]
[name]Adalie[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name]
[name]Serenity[/name]
I had a male [name]Cassidy[/name] in my middle school who went by [name]Cass[/name]. He hated his full name because he thought it felt girly, but I think it can go either way. It’s a name that’s been forever tainted for me because of the character [name]Cassidy[/name] “Beaver” Casablancas on the late, great show [name]Veronica[/name] [name]Mars[/name]. But he was a guy that had the name. Have never met a lady [name]Cassidy[/name].
I do much prefer [name]Felicity[/name]. More feminine, more sprightly, more joyful. I’m not fond of names like [name]Cassidy[/name] that mean, in this case, “curly-haired”, unless the child will be, in fact, curly-haired.
Other names you might like: [name]Violet[/name]/[name]Violetta[/name], [name]Madeline[/name], [name]Zoe[/name], [name]Maya[/name], [name]Coralie[/name], [name]Mireya[/name], [name]Adriana[/name]
I know an adult male [name]Cassidy[/name] & a baby girl [name]Cassidy[/name]. [name]Both[/name] get called [name]Cass[/name]!
The name is like [name]Riley[/name] to me…another name where I know an adult man & kid girl actually!
It works for both. I love [name]Cassidy[/name] for the Grateful Dead song too. I also connect it to [name]Kathy[/name] [name]Lee[/name] [name]Gifford[/name] as it was her daughter’s name who she talked about all the time on TV when I was young & I remember it piqued my interest way back when
[name]Cassidy[/name] reads girl to me. I think it best fits your desire for modern/trendy/girly name. I like [name]Felicity[/name] a lot but it doesn’t read trendy to me and I don’t think it’s a great sister for [name]Sienna[/name]. I think [name]Cass[/name] is super fun.
thanks for all of your thoughts & suggestions! They have put my mind at ease abit more on [name]Cassidy[/name]. Its definitely our top contender and has been for a little while. I just wanted to know what others thought about it and also want to explore all other names that we may like in case we find another name that suits better.
I like the suggestion of [name]Felicity[/name] but my hubbys not sold on it unfortunately.
[name]Elena[/name] is cute and [name]Liana[/name] but my name is [name]Roanna[/name] and bubbas name is [name]Sienna[/name] so we are trying to steer clear of names ending in anna or enna or ana that type of thing otherwise it will get abit much. Also we both love [name]Serenity[/name] but my hubbys name starts with an S aswell so it would be afew S names, also we are trying not to use an S name because if we have more children then we would have started an S theme.
I also like the suggestions of [name]Delaney[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Caitlin[/name], [name]Lily[/name], [name]Amelie[/name] and [name]Laila[/name]. We have considered all of these but they just dont seem to top [name]Cassidy[/name] for us. Thanks for your suggestions though keep them coming!
I absolutely love the name [name]Cassidy[/name] for a girl! I have never met a boy named [name]Cassidy[/name]. I say that if you love it, go for it!
As for the rest of your list,
[name]Ariella[/name] - I prefer just [name]Ariel[/name] myself.
[name]Milena[/name] - Beautiful name!
[name]Milly[/name] - I really like this name, I think it is very pretty and probably my favorite on your list other than [name]Cassidy[/name].
[name]Adalie[/name] - Pretty name
[name]Felicity[/name] - Absolutely great! I always think of a really happy go lucky little girl or woman!
[name]Serenity[/name] - Not my favorite, I think it’s pretty with the right baby.
Ariella: very pretty! similar to Sienna in that it ends with an a and a repetition of consonants. Ariella is much more lyrical than Sienna.
Milena: beautiful! a concern maybe that it ends the same as Sienna: Milena & Sien[Bna][/b]. It would lock you into that pattern for any future children. Milena also sounds a lot more exotic to me then Sienna does.
Milly: beautiful as nickname: Camilla or Milena.
Adalie: very pretty! more lyrical than the structured Sienna.
Felicity: again very pretty but a very different style than Sienna.
Serenity: pretty, but too close to Sienna.
I think Cassidy is a fine choice for a little girl!!! Sienna & Cassidy do sound like little sisters.
I noticed you really like the vowels: a, i, e. You tend to stay away from o, u.
Maybe you could continue that trend with your second daughters name.
[name]Cassidy[/name] - I don’t know any boys named [name]Cassidy[/name] either. I love this name and it goes great [name]Sienna[/name]. I don’t see why you shouldn’t use it.
[name]Ariella[/name] - A beautiful, melodious take on [name]Ariel[/name]. I like it a lot, but it sounds kinda sing-songy when you say “These are my daughters, [name]Sienna[/name] and [name]Ariella[/name]”.
[name]Milena[/name] - A soft, lacey, and graceful name. It also rhymes with [name]Sienna[/name], and that might be a bit much. I love the nickname [name]Milly[/name] though! Very spunky and fun.
[name]Milly[/name] - As said above, very spunky and fun. Less substantial than [name]Milena[/name], but at least it doesn’t rhyme.
[name]Adalie[/name] - I like this name a lot, but it’s got a very different feel than [name]Sienna[/name].
[name]Felicity[/name] - Cute and upbeat, like [name]Cassidy[/name], but more reserved.
[name]Serenity[/name] - Pretty, but you’d be surprised at how popular it is. Sounds to much like [name]Sienna[/name] anyways.
I think [name]Sienna[/name] and [name]Cassia[/name] could be an unbelievably awesome sibset. [name]Cassia[/name] is the cinnamon plant. The name is ancient, [name]Roman[/name], related to [name]Cassius[/name]. Naming daughter #2 [name]Cassia[/name] highlights [name]Sienna[/name]'s beautiful organic, clay-brown feeling, and downplays her trendiness. The two names have a symmetry - both have double consonants and paired vowels that occur at different places in the names so they aren’t too matchy, both have an A-ending, both have 6 letters. I much prefer [name]Cassia[/name] to [name]Cassidy[/name].
