What are your thoughts on [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] as a girl’s name, in honour of [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] [name_u]Monroe[/name_u]? I’m not a fan of the name [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f], but [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] appeals to me and fits well within my style of surnames as firsts (a la [name_u]Sutton[/name_u], [name_u]McKinley[/name_u], etc).
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] could work? Last name begins with D, two syllables!
I really like [name_u]Monroe[/name_u]! I think it works for either a boy or a girl, and I love the connection to [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] [name_u]Monroe[/name_u].
It isn’t my personal style, but I think it could work. To me, it sounds a little more masculine than feminine, but that’s not a problem! You could also use a variation of [name_f]Norma[/name_f] ([name_f]Noor[/name_f]) or [name_f]Jeane[/name_f] to honor her if [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] isn’t sitting right! Or another variation of [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] that you like better?
I find [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] to be a fascinating person, and while [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] isn’t my personal style I think it works. I believe [name_f]Mariah[/name_f] [name_u]Carey[/name_u] has a little daughter called [name_u]Monroe[/name_u].
Not a fan of [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] for a girl (or boy). I adore [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] [name_u]Monroe[/name_u], but this was a stage name. And the sound of “[name_u]Monroe[/name_u]” is not that pleasant to me.
