Month-Naming

[name]Say[/name] you’re thinking about using a month name like [name]June[/name] b/c you like it and maybe your due date happens to be in [name]June[/name]. Is it cheesy to use the actual birth month ? Now ,what if you like the name [name]June[/name] but instead of your due date being in [name]June[/name] , it’s in [name]December[/name]? What would u do?

I would use [name]May[/name] or [name]August[/name] no matter when the kid was born. They are common enough as names.

[name]December[/name], [name]October[/name], etc. I would need a reason, not necessarily the birth-month but some sort of little story I could say (so nothing dirty about conception!) for why.

[name]April[/name] and [name]June[/name] are probably more like the first category than the second category.

My husband loves [name]Winter[/name] and would like to use it no matter when the baby is born.

I’d say [name]April[/name], [name]May[/name], [name]June[/name] and [name]August[/name] are common enough as names to use any time of the year.

[name]March[/name] could also work as it’s a bit more of a surname feel than the rest of the month names, and with the surname for first name trend, it wouldn’t be too out there.

[name]January[/name] is a bit more acceptable now because of the actress [name]January[/name] [name]Jones[/name], but I still think it’s a little off the path. But then again it’s got the nn [name]Jan[/name]/[name]Janie[/name] which makes it more grounded. Ditto [name]October[/name] and nn [name]Toby[/name].

[name]July[/name] has similarities to [name]Julie[/name]/[name]Julia[/name] so I think it could work.

February, [name]September[/name] and [name]December[/name] all seem a little too out there to work as names for me, as is [name]November[/name] but I’ve seen it considered on here before with nn [name]Nova[/name] which is quite cute.

When i was a lot younger, i loved the name [name]December[/name] as a possibilty with the nn [name]Ember[/name]. I still think it’s cute, but it’s no longer an option as i’d rather use family names for any child that i’d have.

I don’t think that you really have to justify the name that you choose to anyone. If you love the name [name]June[/name] and your baby happens to be born in [name]January[/name], whatever. Name her [name]June[/name] if that’s the name that you’re in love with. Same thing goes with having baby [name]June[/name] in the month of [name]June[/name]. It’s not cheesy if you love the name, all that matters is that you give your baby the name that you love the most.

I [name]LOVE[/name] month names! They’re not cheesy at all.
