Ok, so we have a couple names on the list for boy ([name]Grey[/name], [name]Knox[/name] - husband still really liking [name]Knox[/name] and have had [name]Archer[/name] on and off the list) as a brother for [name]Eden[/name]/[name]Edie[/name]. Middle name for potential son will be [name]David[/name] or [name]Davidson[/name] (family name on both sides) and we already have a second middle name (my maiden name)
So I started looking at a family tree…
[name]Arthur[/name] is a family name on my husbands side. I don’t care for [name]Artie[/name] but love nn [name]Ari[/name] and like that it is a family name.
[name]Do[/name] you prefer [name]Arthur[/name] or [name]Archer[/name]? Is [name]Archer[/name] trendy? I don’t care for nn [name]Archie[/name] but don’t mind [name]Arch[/name]. Could also use [name]Ari[/name].
Another name on DH’s family tree it [name]Myer[/name]. I think I really like it. [name]Edie[/name] and [name]Myer[/name]? Thoughts?
Also considering [name]Pierce[/name].

I like [name]Arthur[/name] and [name]Archer[/name]. I think I prefer [name]Arthur[/name] by a bit though. [name]Archer[/name] does seem a bit trendy, though not in a bad way necessarily. I do like [name]Myer[/name] too. It is interesting and has a great meaning. It may be a bit too much of a surname for me though, especially if it was paired with [name]Davidson[/name]. I know a little boy named [name]Pierce[/name], and the name works well for him. Here is my order of preference (I think):

[name]Myer[/name]
[name]Archer[/name]
[name]Pierce[/name]

It wouldn’t be a perfect flow, but I don’t really think that matters too much. My name is 2-2-2 as is my brother’s. It hasn’t hurt us yet Besides, all four names won’t be said together that often. If you did [name]Myer[/name] [name]Davidson[/name] and your two last names, that would be too many surnames to me.
I echo wit32’s comments and her order for the names on your list. What about [name]David[/name] as a fn? [name]Eden[/name]/[name]Edie[/name] and [name]David[/name]/[name]Davey[/name] are cute together!
Maybe this sounds selfish but I grew up with Davids/Daves all around as did my husband and I would sort of like to give the kid an individual name but still honor all the Daves in our lives without any confusion. I did consider [name]David[/name] as a first name and then calling him by his middle name but that just seems silly. I love [name]Davey[/name] though
Well now husband is changing his mind about [name]Davidson[/name] so it looks like middle name will definitely be [name]David[/name] if that changes anything…
I like both [name]Archer[/name] and [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Archer[/name] more than [name]Arthur[/name], but I think [name]Eden[/name] and [name]Arthur[/name] would be just adorable. [name]Arthur[/name] nn [name]Ari[/name] is quite refreshing, actually!
[name]Myer[/name] is interesting… I love surnamey choices, but it feels a bit too surnamey to me. I like the [name]Meyer[/name] spelling more, too. [name]Eden[/name] and [name]Meyer[/name] is interesting, the more I see it the more I love it. I have an audio story on my iPod right now with a [name]Meyer[/name] [name]Abbott[/name] in it–I actually like [name]Abbott[/name] more as a FN option than [name]Meyer[/name]. I absolutely love [name]Eden[/name] and [name]Abbott[/name] together, too, or is that too religious for you? I think [name]Abbott[/name] [name]David[/name] or [name]Abbott[/name] [name]Davis[/name] would be adorable!
[name]Pierce[/name] is handsome and striking and great with [name]Eden[/name], but I do like your previous options of [name]Grey[/name] and [name]Knox[/name] more, though. [name]Pierce[/name] [name]David[/name] is nice, though!

Are you saying you like [name]Knox[/name] and [name]Grey[/name] more than [name]Pierce[/name] or more than [name]Archer[/name] and [name]Arthur[/name] too? [name]Abbott[/name] is nice, I might have to say it a little to get use to it but I will throw it out to my husband (just to keep us confused, lol, j/k as I do appreciate suggestions!!)
Well, when I said it, I had meant I liked [name]Knox[/name] and [name]Grey[/name] better than [name]Pierce[/name], but in general, I like them both better than [name]Arthur[/name] and [name]Archer[/name], as well. Although I’m a huge fan of [name]Grey[/name], it’s hard to find something to top that for me! I would actually love to see [name]Grey[/name] [name]Arthur[/name], I think it’s quite dashing and cool and all around perfect, but I do understand how important a [name]David[/name] variant is for you.
Can anyone else offer some insight? As I start to think I am figuring things out I begin getting confused all over again. I need my berries to tell me what to do sincerely, lost
