More feminine version of Reese

My husband and I are expecting our first baby girl, we already have two boys. I love the name [name_u]Reese[/name_u] but want something a little more feminine since we are FINALLY having our girl! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Other names we like:
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f]
Brynnleigh
[name_f]Avalynn[/name_f]
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] ( what my oldest wants to name her )

I know two little girls named [name_u]Reese[/name_u]. It’s a cute and spunky name.

If you love [name_u]Reese[/name_u], then use it! Perhaps pairing it with a more feminine and traditional middle would make it feel “girlier” to you.

[name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]?)
[name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Brianna[/name_f]

Or, if you are looking for something more feminine beginning with R, maybe you would like [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].

[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] also gives me a similar-to-[name_u]Reese[/name_u] vibe.

From your list, I love [name_f]Maggie[/name_f].

Good luck!

[name_u]Risa[/name_u] or Resa comes to mind. Also [name_f]Carise[/name_f], [name_f]Cerise[/name_f] and [name_f]Clarice[/name_f]. And [name_f]Charlize[/name_f] sounds like a fun combo of [name_u]Reese[/name_u] and [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]

I like all those names! But I don’t think [name_u]Reese[/name_u] as a first name will work, I think it would have to be middle and is just call her that. Which I hate but out last name is [name_m]Smith[/name_m]. I think [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] kind of clashes.

I have considered [name_f]Charlize[/name_f] for that very reason!! But the husband doesn’t like it. Says it sounds too “fancy”?

Personally, I think the Z makes it cool, but I agree it’s a bit frillier than the other names on your shortlist.

If you’d like to call her [name_u]Reese[/name_u], but don’t think it or any of its alternatives work with [name_m]Smith[/name_m], you could get to [name_u]Reese[/name_u] as a nickname via the first and middle name — something like [name_f]Ryleigh[/name_f] [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] or [name_f]Reanna[/name_f] [name_f]Selene[/name_f].

Maybe you’d like [name_f]Teresa[/name_f]/[name_f]Theresa[/name_f]? Beautiful, feminine, and definitely shortens to [name_u]Reese[/name_u].

Otherwise [name_f]Clarice[/name_f] is a beautiful name, and a fresh alternative to [name_f]Claire[/name_f].

As far of your other suggestions go:

I like [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] as a nickname. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is a fine name, but I’d prefer [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. My favorite “[name_f]Maggie[/name_f]” name is [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is the epitome of femininity and beauty in a name.

[name_f]Brynlee[/name_f] is cute, but I’m not really into creative spellings. I’d prefer [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], but [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] might be a little dry. I really like [name_f]Brenna[/name_f], and [name_f]Brenna[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] sounds really nice!

[name_f]Avalynn[/name_f] is not really my style. I prefer [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] or [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Adelyn[/name_f]. I also like [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] (rhymes with spine).

[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is cute, but like [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] I think it’s best as a nickname, perhaps for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]?

Other names you might like:

[name_f]Charmaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Briar[/name_f]
[name_u]Laney[/name_u]
[name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_u]Blakely[/name_u]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_u]Addison[/name_u]
[name_u]Emerson[/name_u]
[name_u]Campbell[/name_u]
[name_u]Auden[/name_u]
[name_u]Casey[/name_u]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

[name_u]Reese[/name_u] is a lovely name! You might like these names that could be shortened to [name_u]Reese[/name_u]:

[name_f]Theresa[/name_f]
Theres
[name_f]Theresia[/name_f]

Other combos I like :

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] (nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f])
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]
Brailee [name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_u]Everly[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_f]Hadlee[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]

I really like [name_u]Everly[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] (nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is so cute). I also like [name_f]Theresa[/name_f] [name_f]Avalynn[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Reese[/name_u])

I really like [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] too, I think it’s beautiful and very different. We have a [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Theresa[/name_f] in the family so those wouldn’t work. Been a is really cute and one I hadn’t thought of. Most of the names on your list are ones I like too. The husband likes [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] with nickname [name_u]Josie[/name_u]…his name is [name_m]Joe[/name_m]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Blakely[/name_u] and [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] but also concerned those may be too masculine with [name_u]Reese[/name_u].

Thanks for the suggestions! I love [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], but my sister in law has claimed that name for when she has kids so I would feel bad. [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is different and I hadn’t considered it, love [name_f]Evie[/name_f] it’s adorable. [name_f]Avalynn[/name_f] is nice and I still have it on my list but worried she will be called [name_f]Ava[/name_f], which I like but is SO popular right now. My boys names are a little different so I’d like them to flow with them…[name_u]Easton[/name_u] and Bransyn.

What about these?

[name_u]Riley[/name_u] (has various spellings)
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Rita[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Charlize[/name_f] is perfect! Spunky, feminine, you get [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_u]Reese[/name_u]

[name_f]Charisse[/name_f], as in Cyd [name_f]Charisse[/name_f]. Gives you a nod to old Hollywood as well as the choice between [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_u]Reese[/name_u]. If this is too out-there for your partner there’s always [name_f]Elise[/name_f].

I think if you wanted to get the nickname [name_u]Reese[/name_u] from her name instead of placing it in the middle spot you might consider…
[name_f]Amarys[/name_f]
[name_f]Aristelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatriz[/name_f]
[name_f]Brisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Caprice[/name_f]/ [name_f]Caprise[/name_f]
[name_f]Clarisse[/name_f]/[name_f]Clarise[/name_f]
[name_f]Karisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Irisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Marise[/name_f]
[name_f]Marisol[/name_f] (this is my favorite)
[name_u]Merise[/name_u]
[name_f]Nerisse[/name_f]
[name_f]Parisa[/name_f]

Or [name_f]Marie[/name_f]/[name_f]Mary[/name_f] combined with an S middle name (or I guess you could just get it from combining the first name with the S from your last name [name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]) but a few examples…

[name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]
[name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_u]Sasha[/name_u]
[name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_f]Sabine[/name_f]
[name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_f]Samantha[/name_f]

And this really would work with any name that ends with ‘rie’ like [name_f]Amorie[/name_f]/[name_f]Amerie[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f], [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u], [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_f]Brie[/name_f], [name_f]Carrie[/name_f], [name_u]Ellery[/name_u], [name_f]Emerie[/name_f], [name_u]Ari[/name_u], [name_u]Hillary[/name_u], [name_u]Laurie[/name_u], [name_f]Mallory[/name_f], [name_u]Perry[/name_u], [name_u]Prairie[/name_u], [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f], [name_f]Reverie[/name_f], [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] etc.

[name_f]Amarys[/name_f] is different and something I hadn’t thought of! I really live the idea of being able to add something to the name [name_u]Reese[/name_u] to make it more feminine itself without totally changing the name. After your post also thought about Avareese, or Reeslynn…would those be too “made up”??

Avareese is too similar to avarice for me though you could consider Evaris/Evarist which is a [name_m]French[/name_m] name meaning well pleasing. Reeslyn while not my style personally, would fit in At any kindergarten.

Meaning Reeselyn sounds childish? Like it wouldn’t age well? I’m so undecided!!!

Well, if you like the sound of [name_u]Reese[/name_u], but think it’s too masculine, you can always name her [name_f]Renee[/name_f]. It’s got the same old world charm, I think. Or [name_u]Reed[/name_u], but that might be too masculine sounding for you, too. There’s always [name_f]Rosita[/name_f], which could conceivably be truncated to [name_u]Reese[/name_u]. You could always, if you were daring, spell it the Welsh way of [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]. I don’t know if that seems more feminine to you. You could name her [name_f]Parisa[/name_f]. [name_u]Reese[/name_u] as a nickname is built right in.

As to your list, I love [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]. If it makes you feel better, [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is actually the feminine variation of [name_m]Charles[/name_m] in the [name_m]French[/name_m] language, not just a truncated version of the male name. My research indicates it means petite and feminine. I hope my opinion helps! And good luck!

No! I was thinking it sounds a lot like the names I hear in kindergarten these days. So it wouldn’t be considered weird.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about Carice pronounced ca-[name_u]REESE[/name_u]? It’s a rare Dutch name and I have it on my own list.
