[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] - love this, sounds so sweet
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] - ehh its ok, perhaps [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]/[name_f]Judith[/name_f] - like [name_u]Jude[/name_u] more, maybe [name_f]Jewel[/name_f]
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] - love this too
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] - love this
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] - love this too
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] - not something I would pick, maybe [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]

[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]. Fine but nit outstanding, in my opinion.
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. It is a little sing songy but I like that! This is one of my favourites of all these!
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]/[name_f]Judith[/name_f]. I much prefer [name_u]Jude[/name_u] to [name_f]Judith[/name_f]. [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is awesome!
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. Quite nice!
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_u]Hollis[/name_u]. I think this is even just a little better then [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] yet! Very exciting
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. I don’t like the name [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] much personally,so this one is not my favourite.
[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_u]Wynn[/name_u]. Very lovely and strong.
It seems like I’m drawn to the unisex middles for [name_f]Marceline[/name_f]. I don’t know why, maybe they seem to balance well with [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] which is quite long and feminine. My very favourites are [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. All the best!

[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] - is the line-lun weird? Yes. It doesn’t seem to work, imo. I don’t care for the closely repeating sounds when I say it out loud, or look at it on the page.

[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]/[name_f]Judith[/name_f] - I normally like [name_u]Jude[/name_u] but here it seems abrupt. Especially out loud - it’s like [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_u]JUDE[/name_u]!!! I don’t like [name_f]Judith[/name_f] as others have suggested, because it’s heavy next to gentle [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] and sounds extra Germanic.

[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] - [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] repeats both the ‘s’ and ‘l’ sounds from [name_f]Marceline[/name_f]. Feels insubstantial when [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] is a substantial, regal name.

[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] - [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is heavy, looks extra Germanic next to the obvious latin qualities of [name_f]Marceline[/name_f]. But it’s also pretty and sweet.

[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] - I don’t like the repeating ‘N’ sounds at the end of both names, and it also feels strange to say out loud because names ending with the “win” sound ([name_f]Elowen[/name_f], [name_f]Anwen[/name_f], [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f]) are more popular these days.

[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] are standouts. [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] has such a classic feel, it’s both gentle and strong, aristocratic and yet sweet and friendly. To me it’s a name that a real life princess would wear. I love the flow and I think with an international name like [name_f]Marceline[/name_f], a Biblical middle name works so well because it’s familiar and used all around the world. [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is such a meaningful name. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though [name_f]Iris[/name_f] repeats the ‘r’ and ‘s’ sounds of [name_f]Marceline[/name_f], it really emphasizes the “vintage chic” aspect of [name_f]Marceline[/name_f]. A flower name is trendy right now, and [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is a stylish and refreshing change from [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], and [name_f]Violet[/name_f].

My favourite is [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], followed closely by [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]! They are the most beautiful.

This is my favorite: [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. I also quite like [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f], but I’m one of few namenerds who love and embrace alliteration and assonance/consonance.

I love [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] as well, but [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is quite the mismatch stylistically with [name_f]Marceline[/name_f], and the double-n endings of [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] makes it a little choppy. [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] flows better because there are more syllables between the endings.

@dearest
I kind of like the alliteration of [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] as well, especially since our other option right now is pretty alliterative, but I haven’t been able to sell my husband on it yet. As far as [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] [name_f]Marceline[/name_f], I’m beginning to feel like it flows better with EVERYTHING if [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] is in the middle instead of first, but I haven’t found a first that I like more. So we’ll keep trying and hopefully land on something soon!

My top three would be:

  1. [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] - sounds incredibly classy and strong; I absolutely agree with everything @anyagreenwhich said about this combo. [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is sooo underappreciated, even by lots of berries.

  2. [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] - I know you like the feminine/tomboy combination, and I think [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] does that really well. [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is still very underused on girls, and there’s absolutely no reason why it can’t work.

  3. [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] - it flows beautifully, feels very cohesive as both names are strong and unfrilly, but very feminine. My only complaint is that [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is becoming a little bit commonplace, and I see it suggested a lot as a middle name on here especially - though to be fair that’s proabably because it’s beautiful and goes with almost anything in the middle slot! I do really like this combo, but it doesn’t “wow” me.

[name_f]Marceline[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is my favourite.
