My husband was out of state for a family emergency for most of the week, and when he came back he said that his family really liked my top choice of Solomon over his top choice. Which has made Solomon bump up on his list. However, he still is not a fan of my absolute favorite combo, Solomon Ames.
I just ADORE Solomon Ames. I think it looks visually cohesive and also flows well together when spoken with our last name. My husband isn’t a fan but I am not giving up… because the man literally cannot remember what he says or thinks about a name until I read to him what I wrote in quotation marks the last time we talked about his opinions on names.
He suggested Solomon Fletcher and I just…. I don’t feel like it flows and they feel like completely mismatched to me.
I’m having a hard time coming up with middles I love as much as Ames. Here are a few I’ve jotted down, but please throw some opinions and new ideas at me!
Solomon Ames:heart:
Solomon James ( this could be somewhat of a nod to my husband’s stepdad and sounds similar to my favorite Ames. I just don’t love It because it has become so common and doesn’t feel as special to me as Ames does. And I went to school with a James who really tainted the name for me.)
Solomon Francis
Solomon Cedric❤️ (might be too much with a last name starting with S)
Solomon Finch ( I LOVE Finch. And I love that it’s sort of a little unexpected with Solomon and short and sweet to balance the longer first. My only reservation is that I love Frederic Finch and Felix Finch if we were to ever have another boy.)
Solomon Keats
Solomon Roeland
Solomon Ray (family name on my side)
Solomon Declan = “man of prayer”
Solomon Edwin
Solomon Edison
Solomon Ogden
Solomon Nolan
Solomon Anderson (family name on husband’s side)
Solomon Alexander
Solomon Clive (C.S. Lewis homage)
Solomon Clancy
Solomon Graham
Solomon Bernard
Solomon Barnaby
Solomon Frederick (want option of using Fredrick as a first name down the line?)
Solomon Rasmus
Solomon Ragnar
Solomon Bellamy
Solomon Ambrose
Solomon Fletcher (husband likes, I’m meh)
Solomon Birch
Solomon Van (My maiden name- now middle name- starts with Van and it was what my paternal grandfather was typically called. Love it as a nickname or even a first name. However, our first son shared a first name with the same grandfather so not sure if that would be weird?)
Solomon Vaughn
Solomon Jack - jack = god is gracious
Solomon Reeves
Solomon Abe
Solomon Elm
Solomon Gibbs
Solomon Morrisy
Solomon Ansel
Solomon Finnegan /Finn
Solomon Vincent
