[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all! Im back with some updates to my name list and would live suggestions, thoughts, potential middle names!
Current list in no particular order is:
[name_f]Zelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Binta[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]
We still love [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f]. But I think I am more inclined to use them as possible middle names.
[name_f]My[/name_f] partner suggested [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] the other day. And I love the name combo but worry about two floral names.
Thats where I am at! 6 months pregnant, so still have some time to name this little girl.
[name_f]Zelie[/name_f] is bright, sweet and international, with style to it
[name_f]Binta[/name_f] is distinctive, unexpected and sparky
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] is floral, warm and pretty
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] is sharp but sweet, with style
I do like [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] in vibe/sound but it is very floral - not a huge deal, but if it bothers you, I wouldnāt do it.
[name_f]Zelie[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Binta[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] or [name_f]Binta[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] would be sweet!
I think youāre right in having [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] as middles (or as nicknames) - I know a couple of Poppys and theyāre in their mid teens and just starting to grow out of their names (Poppy is especially suited to the young, imo).
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] is very pretty too though Iām only half sure about the nickname options, would need to get used to Zin/Zinnie!
I know there are strong personal/cultural meanings of [name_f]Binta[/name_f] for you so my thought may be pretty irrelevant- but Iām not sure I would use [name_f]Binta[/name_f] in the first spot with the unfortunate Bin/Bint/Bent associations.
You canāt go wrong with [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] as it flows nicely and is beautiful. I would want to not do 2 florals, but just because I like so many types of names.
Of your lost [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] is my favorite.
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_u]Everest[/name_u]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Alora[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] Ottelie
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Acadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Amabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] and [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] - lovely florals that feel like new blooms!
*Suggestions: [name_f]Azalea[/name_f], [name_f]Tansy[/name_f],
[name_f]Binta[/name_f] - so nice to see you considering this. A word of warning - where I live ābintā is used as a derogatory term for a woman. You might want to double check it isnāt used as a misogynistic term where you live too
I share your concerns about two floral names. I think middles are an opportunity to add an extra dimension to a personās name.
Some other names you may like:
[name_f]Bindi[/name_f]
[name_f]Tesni[/name_f]
[name_f]Zahra[/name_f]
[name_f]Raya[/name_f]
[name_u]Izar[/name_u]
[name_u]Isra[/name_u]
[name_u]Ezri[/name_u]
[name_u]Azure[/name_u], [name_f]Azura[/name_f]
[name_f]Keziah[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites by a mile are [name_f]Zelie[/name_f] (though Iād prefer full name Azelie known as Zelie) and [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] which I find very pretty and underrused. Iāve never heard of [name_f]Binta[/name_f] but I donāt like it, ābintā is a colloquial unflattering term / insult for a woman in some areas. Iām not keen on [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] but thereās nothing wrong with it, I just find that -in sound tinny to my ear.
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] is dreamy! I think [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] is so fun, sparkly and bright she feels unexpected and looks visually majestic with that Z start along with the double letters in the middle. [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] is beautiful. I love [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] especially as [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] middle name I think it just creates a magical combination. I love and I think works really well together probably because [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] doesnāt feel like extremely floral. For me I think [name_u]Rose[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] is to much but [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] isnāt and works just fine. I hope that makes sense.
Looking at your other ideas [name_f]Zelie[/name_f] feels sparkly, edgy and bright again with a very visually cool look. I think [name_f]Zelie[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] is very pretty.
[name_f]Binta[/name_f] a fun spunky choice that honours your partnerās heritage and I love seeing African names being pushed into the limelight as there are so many wonderful underused gems. [name_f]My[/name_f] only concern is the negative misogynistic term ābintā that is used where I am. Iām not sure if this is a massive concern for you as for me [name_f]Binta[/name_f] does feel very separate however Iām glad @EdgeOfTheMeadow has brought it up. I also like [name_f]Binta[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f].
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] is gorgeous such an elegant floral choice that feels pretty and bright sheās charming. I thought [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Binta[/name_f] could be a pretty pairing.
I think [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] & [name_f]Olive[/name_f] are lovely but not as sparkly as your other options so I understand why youāve got them as middle names and I think they are stunning middle names.
I had not considered Azelie and am really loving the flow of that name. And my partner still gets the āzā that he loves.
Iām in the US and ābintā isnt used as a negative word here for a woman. Iām actually not sure how I feel about moving forward with [name_f]Binta[/name_f] knowing that now, and still have to ask him how he feels. Though knowing him he will say that it doesnāt matter. We will see!
While I love the sound of [name_f]Azalea[/name_f], I much prefer [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]. And I dont really know why. Especially because I am loving Azelie.
Iām glad it doesnāt seem like [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] would be too much floral. I love floral names so do not mind it at all, but did not want just a really themed style name. We really like the ZP initial and it opening up cutesy nicknames like Zip and [name_f]Zippy[/name_f] for a little one. Especially when she start waddling around or if my partnerās dream of soccer stardom comes true lol
Out of the new suggestions, I am definitely liking Azelie and [name_f]Linnea[/name_f].
