Morgan - for a boy. Am I nuts?

Is it crazy? To me it sounds so masculine!

Also, so many boy names going to the girls…isn’t it time to give some “girl” names Back to boys (especially ones that are traditionally male)

What about [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]? Bold in a good or bad way?

Others we are considering…

[name_u]Reid[/name_u]
[name_u]Remy[/name_u]
[name_u]Adrien[/name_u]
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]

Brother is [name_m]Cormac[/name_m], if that helps!

I’ve met both a male and a female [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] and it worked well on both

[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_u]Remy[/name_u] are great

Decently major male character in the Walking Dead, so I’d say this alone has normalized it for you and you should not be concerned about it at all.

[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is a great name!

I’ve known male and female Morgans, so it doesn’t register as a girl’s name to me. There’s also [name_m]Derek[/name_m] [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] from Criminal Minds. I always enjoyed looking at him.

[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is an entirely fine and established male name where I live ([name_f]England[/name_f]). I prefer it for a boy, [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is a handsome combo!

I also love [name_u]Remy[/name_u] (and [name_m]Cormac[/name_m]). [name_m]How[/name_m] about…

[name_m]Lorcan[/name_m]
[name_u]Rory[/name_u]
[name_u]Flynn[/name_u]
[name_m]Seamus[/name_m]
[name_u]Rudy[/name_u]
[name_m]Magnus[/name_m]
[name_m]Torin[/name_m]
[name_m]Senan[/name_m]
[name_m]Monty[/name_m]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_u]Blair[/name_u]
[name_u]Fife[/name_u]/[name_m]Fyfe[/name_m]
[name_m]Eamon[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u]

I think [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is great for a boy

No, [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is handsome on a guy. I think its use as a girls’ name is largely tied to the character [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] le [name_f]Fay[/name_f] from the legends of [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], in which case it has a different origin and in my mind is a distinct/separate name. Incidentally, another ‘unisex’ name from Arthurian legend that I prefer on boys is [name_u]Kay[/name_u], as in Sir [name_u]Kay[/name_u] - which, again, has a different origin than the identical girls’ name.

From your list I like [name_u]Remy[/name_u]. You might also like [name_u]Landry[/name_u].

I love [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] for a boy but my husband grew up with a female [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] and cannot picture it on a boy.

Personally, I prefer it on a boy. I don’t think it’s too bold at all! Its use on boys has actually remained pretty steady, despite the spike in girl Morgans.

Not crazy at all. I automatically think of [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] as a boy name; and I like the sound of it with [name_m]Cormac[/name_m].

My personal favourite from your list would be [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] - I think [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] and [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] sound like super cool brothers.

I think it’s pretty unisex, but I prefer it on a boy. My first thought is always [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m]. [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is lovely, but I agree with grackym – [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] and [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] would be such cool brothers!

I think [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is unisex and I can see it on both a girl or a boy. In real life though, I only know 2 female Morgans. While we (nameberry) know that it is unisex, I’m not sure how in everyday life people may view it.

[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is very handsome and strong. From your list I also love [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] with brother [name_m]Cormac[/name_m]. [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] would be lovely too!

[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is perfectly fine for a boy. If yoy can name your daughter [name_u]James[/name_u] then why not your son [name_u]Morgan[/name_u]?

Btw I love the combination [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_u]Reid[/name_u]. They fit so good with [name_m]Cormac[/name_m]

[name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is so handsome! Of course it can be associated with [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] from The Walking Dead, [name_m]Derek[/name_m] [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] from Criminal Minds and if you want to talk about real life [name_u]Morgan[/name_u]'s, there is a monster truck driver named [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Kane[/name_m]. You’re not nuts at all! [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is lovely!

I like it! I see it as very masculine because of the character [name_m]Derek[/name_m] [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] from Criminal Minds.

I definitely prefer [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] on a boy.

I have always known about an equal number of male and female Morgans - there are a lot of men out there with the name! Also, I really love [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]!

I grew up with both a female and a male [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], so it’s always felt unisex to me. Plus [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m], he solidifies it as an acceptably masculine name to me. I don’t think you’re crazy at all! I love [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] from your list, and [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is definitely a handsome combo too!

While [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] is more common for girls, it has history as a boys’ name and some familiarity. There are also male Morgans in media like the one on Criminal Minds (although it’s his last name, it definitely has helped me see the name more easily on a boy or man). If you really like it, I think you should go for it! For names that are known to be unisex, it’s all about who you know or know of with that name. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if people have met more female Morgans, they know it’s a unisex name and meeting a little male [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] will give people a new association. For instance, while I know [name_u]Kendall[/name_u] is a unisex name I had only known girls with that name but [name_u]Kendall[/name_u] [name_u]Roy[/name_u] on the tv show Succession made me think of it as more male.
