Hello everyone. We are considering [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] for our baby girl due in Feb. Our last name is [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]. A quick google search shows that [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] is a very large law firm in [name_u]Philly[/name_u] we had not hear of. So, our questions. . . . . Have you heard of the law firm [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]? Is it a household name? We had not, so weren’t too concerned but if we are outliers and most have heard of it; then maybe we need to go in a different direction? Would this bother you when picking a name? Thanks for the opinions.
I have never heard of the lawfirm. I’m in the US but not close to [name_u]Philly[/name_u]. It wouldn’t bother me and I would use it anyway.
Nope. I’m a [name_m]Baltimore[/name_m] paralegal, so I might have heard of them if they were really ubiquitous. Frankly, if you’re out-of-state most attorneys won’t know about any law firms that weren’t involved with large news stories. [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] sounds like a serious young lady with a bright future. Good choice and congrats!

Thanks everybody. Trying to keep the name a secret from family/friends, so didn’t have anyone to ask.
I’ve never heard of the specific law firm, but I do think [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] has a bit of a “corporate” vibe, like an insurance company or investment bank or, yes, a law firm. It’s completely usable, and no one will make that association once it’s a child’s name. But that’s a problem we had with our last name, too, that ultimately made us cross off some names we really liked.
I’ve heard of it (it’s a good, large firm) but I also live in the area and am in the legal field. Before I read the post, the law firm connection came to me. I do think that’s it’s a good name.
