What is your method for pairing Biblical names with non-Biblical names?
I am crushing on [name_m]Moses[/name_m], but I am having a difficult time making a combo because every name with it sounds so off. The styles just don’t go, but I don’t want a heavily Biblical name on my list.
I didn’t have this issue with [name_u]Jericho[/name_u]. [name_m]Moses[/name_m] is just a name that comes with a vision of either
1.) A baby in a basket
2.) An old man parting the sea
I’d love help making a [name_m]Moses[/name_m] combo. I like to use a 3-4 syllable name followed by a one syllable name for my combos (e.g. [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u])
Names I’ve been trying to incorporate:
[name_m]Apollo[/name_m]
[name_u]Roux[/name_u]
[name_m]Adriel[/name_m]
[name_m]Eero[/name_m]
[name_m]Lev[/name_m]
[name_m]Indio[/name_m]
[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]
[name_m]Hart[/name_m]
[name_u]Shea[/name_u]
Any suggestions appreciated!
I like many biblical names, but the combos I make from them depend on the name itself. Something like [name_u]Seth[/name_u] or [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], which are pretty much fully mainstream, I would be open to considering more “out-there” middle names…something like [name_u]Seth[/name_u] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] or [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] Ardent, for example. With other, more ‘dusty’ biblical names, like [name_m]Moses[/name_m], [name_m]Job[/name_m], or [name_f]Tamar[/name_f], I’d pair with something more traditional…so maybe [name_m]Moses[/name_m] [name_m]Leroy[/name_m], [name_m]Job[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u], or [name_f]Tamar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. That’s just me, though. I definitely prefer some balance in names and that they not be too crazy. Fanciful combos can equate to being a bit much, or sound like character names. That’s just my two cents.
Given what you have, I think [name_m]Moses[/name_m] [name_m]Hart[/name_m] sounds pretty good! [name_m]Adriel[/name_m] also seems to go well with [name_m]Moses[/name_m]. You’ve got some great ideas, but don’t be afraid to keep it a bit simple. [name_m]Moses[/name_m] is already a blunt, strong name…go with what you like! [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t worry about having to fluff it up or anything. Best of luck!
[name_m]Moses[/name_m] [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] [name_m]Hart[/name_m]
[name_m]Moses[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Lev[/name_m]
[name_m]Moses[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]
[name_m]Moses[/name_m] [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_u]Tate[/name_u]
Something like that? I love [name_m]Moses[/name_m], but I’m never sure what to pair it with.
Thanks for the thoughts!
I think my issue with [name_m]Moses[/name_m] is that it just creates too strong of a visual for me. A name like [name_m]Job[/name_m] or even something out-there like [name_m]Obadiah[/name_m], doesn’t immediately make you think of a man with a beard and staff (at least not me!) I think I’ll have to bump [name_m]Moses[/name_m] to a middle name spot…
I am interested in hearing how others work in very Biblical names to their combos!
