Some of these I heard initially as a child and most are still on my favourites list, so they’ve had a lasting impact on me!
With Amelia, it’s incredibly popular now but when I was a young child (quite a few years ago!) it was the name of my friend’s older sister. I had never met someone with the name before and I thought it was the most beautiful name I’d ever heard at the time!
@floatinthesky Same! Met a gal at a summer school with it as a kid and was just bowled over by its beauty (and the cuteness of her nickname “Noush”). Had couple of students with it since growing up too, it’s far more wearable than people seem to think!
Willow! It’s trendy now but growing up it was unusual as my best friend’s name. She always got compliments on it from new teachers/strangers/other parents! Her last name also starts with a W and the alliteration was very romantic and made her sound like a movie star to me.
Also love [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_f]Melody[/name_f], [name_f]Callista[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], and [name_f]Aria[/name_f] on real people.
When I was a kid, I heard of twins named [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] & [name_m]Britain[/name_m]. Funny enough, when we were talking about names, I didn’t even mention it to my SO. He hated pretty much every name I said & I figured it was too weird for him. I was almost 7 months along & he came home & said he heard the coolest name on the radio… to my shock it was [name_m]Britain[/name_m]. That’s our daughter’s name and I still love it!
