Most common/natural nn for Matilda? & Adele ques.

I love the name [name]Adele[/name] Rosale, that’s a great choice. Absolutely stunning. If I were to think of any nickname for an [name]Adele[/name], it would be something along the lines of [name]Ella[/name], or [name]Dell[/name]. [name]Addie[/name] is too tredny.
As for [name]Matilda[/name], I have an aunt who goes by jut [name]Tillie[/name]. I didn’t even know her real name was [name]Matilda[/name] until I asked her twin sister (she came from a family of 13 children, lots of names!) I think [name]Mattie[/name] is a good nn for [name]Matilda[/name] if she’s a tomboy. If not, leave it at [name]Tillie[/name]. I’ve never even considered [name]Tildy[/name] for [name]Matilda[/name].
[name]Both[/name] names are absolutely marvelous.
Good luck!

We named our daughter [name]Matilda[/name]. She’s 19 months. We call her equally [name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Tilly[/name]. No one has [name]EVER[/name] called her [name]Mattie[/name]. Some have asked if she has a nn.We just tell them that it’s [name]Tilly[/name].

[name]Even[/name] her siblings call her by both names. We love both her full name and her nn. One day, she will decide what she wants to be called.

[name]Hope[/name] that helps. We don’t know any other [name]Matilda[/name]'s. I really do think people will generally listen to what YOU call your child and go with that.

I know five [name]Matilda[/name]'s!!
The first, 19 yrs- goes exclusively by [name]Tilda[/name], another 14yrs- goes exclusively by [name]Tilly[/name], two both about 12 yrs- go by a mixture of [name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Tilly[/name] and the last, 5 yrs - is called [name]Matilda[/name] or [name]Millie[/name].
I don’t think you will have an issue with people calling [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Mattie[/name], and if they do it would be easily corrected.

As for [name]Adele[/name], I love this name! I only know one [name]Adele[/name] and she goes by her full name. I doubt an [name]Adele[/name] would be called [name]Addie[/name], unless as a pp said, she likes it herself when she grows up!

I think that a [name]Matilda[/name] is likely to be nicknamed, and where I live, most [name]Matilda[/name]'s are nicknamed [name]Tilly[/name]. I think that [name]Tilly[/name] is really cute!
[name]Adele[/name] is only two syllables, so I think it is less likely to be nicknamed then Adeleigh, for example. [name]Adele[/name] is a really pretty name too!

Thanks guys! I like matilda nn tilly. The nn doesn’t sound great with my last name though so hoping she wouldn’t go exclusively by that. [name]Tilda[/name] is nice too and that does sound good with my last name. [name]Kinda[/name] lean more towards tilly though

[name]Adele[/name] I love! [name]Adele[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name] or [name]Adele[/name] [name]Iris[/name]? [name]Do[/name] you think this name is too linked to the singer? Eh, most names have something. I love the sound of this name. There is no question that this name is pretty :). I doubt [name]Addie[/name] will be an issue. Only of she likes it later on will it probably be used.
