Most Popular Baby Names Around the World

So I was bored today and decided to try to figure out the most popular names around the world (well, mostly Europe because that’s what I could find the statistics for). I thought you Berries might be interested in the results!

I took the top 100 baby names used in 2011, 2012, or 2013 from 20-something European countries plus the US, [name_f]Canada[/name_f], Australia, and [name_m]New[/name_m] Zealand and calculated which names appear most frequently. Here are the top 10 names for girls and boys in descending order:

I’d be very interested if someone else wanted to try the same thing with more countries, and with lists all from the same year. I just used whatever was easiest to find–my methods weren’t very scientific. Combining variant spellings would also be interesting.
