Not sure why I registered to post here but I am just for fun, I suppose.
I think my wife and I settled on “Jack Silas Daniel…”
Our last name starts with a B and is 2 syllables
My name is Benjamin Daniel
We want to use Daniel as it’s my dad’s first name, Silas as it’s ancestral for me, and awesome (lol), and Jack as a strong, direct first name.
Interestingly his name will have as many syllables as mine despite having two middle names.
If he ever needs to choose one of the middles for any particular paperwork or forms, I think Jack Silas works well
Anyhow, we’re going to think on it but this is the best agreement we’ve reached thus far. the little guy is due in 3 months, so there’s no rush, but still… It’s good to feel prepared!
I really like it! I think with [name_u]Jack[/name_u] and [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] together you need a second middle in there to break up the whisky association, and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] feels like a perfect bridge between those two names. [name_u]Jack[/name_u] [name_m]Silas[/name_m] does sound very cool and handsome if he ever needs to use just the first two as well.

You’re right… [name_u]Jack[/name_u] is a short, sweet and direct first name and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] is an amazing name altogether. [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] having the connection to you and your dad is perfect.

All classics but they sound fresh together. If it’s the jack and [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] together that has got you negative feedback on other forums I wouldn’t worry about it. I actually know a family with two sons called [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] & [name_u]Jack[/name_u]. Sure the first time someone hears the names together they might smile or make a joke but it’s never been a big deal.
I like how there’s the connection wi to the name [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] but he also has so many choices should he choice to go by a name other than [name_u]Jack[/name_u] with the inclusion of [name_m]Silas[/name_m] & [name_u]Daniel[/name_u].
[name_u]Jack[/name_u] [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] oozes southern style charm to me. I don’t particularly like the flow of all three together, but it is definitely a vibe anyhow. I really like [name_m]Silas[/name_m] - uncommon and charming. I think [name_u]Jack[/name_u] as a legal name, not a nickname, is rather unexpected. I’ve only ever met one “legal” [name_u]Jack[/name_u] in my life (he’s about 30 now).
If I may, some other naming sites can be absolutely brutal and judgemental. I’m sorry if you feel like you’ve had your favourite names ripped to shreds on other sites. In the end, it’s your baby, your way. Even if this name isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, it’s yours and special to you, and that’s all that matters in the end. I hope you can have a better experience with Nameberry than some other sites.
