I have been in love with the name [name_f]Kenley[/name_f] for a long time and would love to use it for my daughter. As my name is [name_f]Mckenzie[/name_f] is [name_f]Kenley[/name_f] too similar? Other names I’m thinking of are:
It might be a little similiar but if you really love the name go for it. I am not that big of a fan of [name_f]Kenley[/name_f] personally so from you list I love…
I don’t think [name_f]Kenley[/name_f] is too similar, but it does seem like you were inspired by your name. But really, it’s up you. There are sons and daughters named directly after their parents, and it’s common enough to name a child after yourself. If you want that connection, there’s nothing wrong with that.
On a side note, my favorite of your girls names are [name_f]Emma[/name_f] , [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_f]Willa[/name_f] (in that order) to go with your boys.
I think its cool to name your kid [name_f]Kenley[/name_f] if you like it best. Parents name their kids similar all the time it’s not big deal. If you’re worried about the look of it maybe go with the [name_f]Kinley[/name_f] spelling instead. I like [name_f]Kenley[/name_f] [name_f]Maya[/name_f] especially.
If you ever go by [name_u]Kenzie[/name_u] or another nickname that’s similar, then it might be too much. I’d probably assume it was an intentional similarity if I met a mother and daughter with those names, so it really depends on whether you’re comfortable with that.
I have the same issue with several names that I like, and my husband gets final say on what’s too similar since I figure he’s the one who will actually have to say both names most often.
It’s a little similar but I’m not fond of the name. You have some great names in your list though, like [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Bea[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] which I love.
I don’t think they are too close. It is nice that you are using a name that seems inspired by yours. I do adore [name_f]Willa[/name_f] from your list, though!
I do think it’s pretty similar, but you have some great names on your list, and I think [name_f]Kenley[/name_f] would work really well as a middle for some of them.
I think I also don’t like it because it is a surname-name, and since your boys have surname-names, I might assume [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], and [name_f]Kenley[/name_f] were three boys if it were written down or announced and I didn’t know you had a daughter. I like [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Maya[/name_f], and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] because they are feminine but not too frilly, and they sound at home next to [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] and [name_m]Jackson[/name_m].
I know you didn’t ask for suggestions, but have you considered [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]? [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Kenley[/name_f]. [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f].
I think you’d be fine using [name_f]Kenley[/name_f]. I knew a mother and daughter whose names where [name_u]Vivian[/name_u], and [name_f]Vivianna[/name_f] and it work! So I say go for it!
I don’t think they are TOO similar, more as if you have reinterpreted your own name for a little girl. Which is fine. If [name_m]Will[/name_m] and [name_f]Jada[/name_f] (Pinkett) [name_m]Smith[/name_m] can do it… and [name_m]Will[/name_m] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] are way more similar. I always support going with the name you [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]. I also think [name_f]Kenley[/name_f] goes well with your other chidlren’s names (listed in your signature).
I really like [name_f]Kenley[/name_f] [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_f]Kenley[/name_f] [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_f]Kenley[/name_f] [name_f]Willa[/name_f] from your list.
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] isn’t really my style but there are plenty of other names meaning star or similar you might not have considered. Have you thought about [name_f]Astera[/name_f], [name_f]Ayelet[/name_f], [name_u]Seren[/name_u], [name_f]Atria[/name_f], [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] or [name_f]Astraea[/name_f] as a middle name for [name_f]Kenley[/name_f]? Using a more unusual middle might help the name stand out or be more distinguished from your own. Kenely [name_u]Seren[/name_u] or Kenely [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] sound good to me.
If you decide you don’t want to use [name_f]Kenley[/name_f] afterall then I like [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] best from your list. Or [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Stella[/name_f] sounds sweet. And I would make [name_f]Bea[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] into [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].
