Multi cultural baby name needed

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone

Hubby and I are planning on another baby. However our baby naming situation is a bit unique in that he is Turkish and I am English. We currently live in [name_f]England[/name_f].

We named our first baby Zakariya Alper [name_m]Kaleb[/name_m]; he is known as [name_m]Zak[/name_m] by English family members and we always introduce him as [name_m]Zak[/name_m] outside of the house. However at home we call him by his 1st middle name and the Turkish side of the family also call him Alper.

We would like to have a few different first names lined up for the next baby so that we can see what suits them when they arrive. However at the moment we can only agree on one boys name and one girls name.

We want to use popular Turkish names that provide English sounding diminutives or that are easy for English people to pronounce.

I would love to hear honest comments on the following names or any suggestions anyone can provide.

Current favourites:
Boy: Emre (pronounced m-ray) nickname [name_u]Rey[/name_u]
Girl: [name_f]Esma[/name_f] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]

Other names I like for girls are:

  • Elanur (pronounced [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f])I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the nn [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
  • Hatice (pronounced [name_f]HATTY[/name_f]-J) with the nn [name_f]Hattie[/name_f]

For boys I like:

  • [name_m]Danyal[/name_m] (pronounced [name_m]Daniel[/name_m])
  • [name_m]Benyamin[/name_m] nn [name_m]Ben[/name_m]
  • Mikail nn [name_m]Mick[/name_m], [name_u]Mickey[/name_u] or [name_u]Mika[/name_u]

I’m having trouble getting hubs on board with any of these suggestions tho as he says most of them sound too old-fashioned in Turkish.

Help please!…

I think something like benyamin emre zane or elanur olivia _____ would work well with your first son’s name. [name_m]Zak[/name_m] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_m]Zak[/name_m] and [name_m]Ben[/name_m].

Emre is so cool!

Emre [name_m]Danyal[/name_m] or [name_m]Danyal[/name_m] Emre would be my pick
