Anyone have additional feedback?
I chose [name_u]Winslow[/name_u], [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], [name_m]Lucian[/name_m], and [name_m]Clement[/name_m]. I think they balance [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] out well, not too out there, but unusual enough that they work. [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] [name_m]Lucian[/name_m] would probably be my favourite, but I think just [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] [name_u]Claude[/name_u] would be a good option too.
I voted [name_u]Winslow[/name_u] and [name_u]Claude[/name_u]-[name_m]Yves[/name_m]. Based on sound alone I like [name_u]Winslow[/name_u] best. I think it sounds very sophisticated next to [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m]. And I like that its familiar enough that it grounds it a little. But I’m also a big fan of honor names and do think [name_u]Claude[/name_u]-[name_m]Yves[/name_m] sounds nice with it as well.
Ptolemy Ambrose is quite dashing with just the right amount fancy in my mind.
I also like Ptolemy Clement and, to a slightly lesser extent, Ptolemy Winslow, but they don’t have that something that the Ambrose combo does.
I want to like Ptolemy Claude-Yves, but I’m just unsure (and I’m a big lover of Yves/Ives :)). Based on what you said, it feels like Yves is just sort of tacked on. It’s a nice combo, but I think I would prefer just Ptolemy Claude or even Ptolemy Claudius/Claudio. Unless of course there’s a meaning behind Yves, in which case I’m a proponent!
I like [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m]. [name_m]Archimedes[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] has an uncommon first name with a more familiar middle. I like that balance for [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m]'s name too.
I prefer just [name_u]Claude[/name_u] alone as the middle!
I appreciate everyone’s input! It’s a good point about wanting a middle that balances everything out.
My trouble with [name_u]Claude[/name_u] is I just don’t much care for it on its own. I prefer it in hyphenated names, and I liked [name_u]Claude[/name_u]-[name_m]Yves[/name_m] because it reminded me a bit of my grandmother’s name, Jonine-[name_u]Leigh[/name_u].
The poll is open until the 4th but I can already tell at least half the names have been knocked off the list.
Question for everyone: would [name_m]Claudian[/name_m] be a good alternative to [name_u]Claude[/name_u]-[name_m]Yves[/name_m]?
I do like [name_u]Claude[/name_u]-[name_m]Yves[/name_m] a lot, but [name_m]Claudian[/name_m] might fit better with [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m]?
[name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] and [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] [name_m]Alphonse[/name_m] seem like best fits.
I voted for [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] [name_m]Clement[/name_m] (lovely!), [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] [name_m]Lucian[/name_m], and [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] [name_m]Ferdinand[/name_m] (this is perhaps a bit much together, but I really like [name_m]Ferdinand[/name_m]!)
[name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] [name_m]Claudius[/name_m]? I quite like [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] [name_m]Claudian[/name_m] too. [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] [name_m]Clarence[/name_m]?
[name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] is fantastic (though I am a massive [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] lover myself, so perhaps quite biased there). [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m] [name_m]Claudian[/name_m] is great too, and I like that it’s a namesake.
