What do you think of the name [name]Muriel[/name]?

I love it!

I think it’s great! But, I admit it’s one of those names I would love to see someone else use, but probably wouldn’t use myself (not for any specific reason I can pin down). I also adore [name]Miriam[/name] (and that one I would use in a heartbeat).

All I think of is Aunt [name]Muriel[/name] from [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name]. I prefer [name]Miriam[/name] or [name]Mariel[/name].

This name makes me giggle because all I think of is the hilarious Australian movie [name]Muriel[/name]'s Wedding. The sister is always saying “You’re terrrrrible, [name]Muriel[/name]” in this really funny way. The movie is from 1994 so probably not that many people will make the association. I worry that this name would often be misheard as [name]Mirielle[/name] or something, but that’s not necessarily a reason not to use it. It’s not one I would use myself, but it’s something different and interesting!

I think it’s a beautiful name. There’s also [name]Muirgheal[/name], a variant spelling.
