Hi all,

What are your thoughts on this name? In Dutch it’s pronounced muu-suh, so that’s how I would pronounce it if I ever used it irl.

I really like the history of the name. In Greek mythology, the 9 muses are the inspirational goddesses of literature, music, science and art.

Some sibsets I like…
Muse + Lola
Muse + Rosa
Muse + Dagmar
Muse + Winnie

Honestly, I would either use [name_m]Musa[/name_m] or put [name_f]Muse[/name_f] in the middle, I think it’s too on the nose (and I also think of the band!)
[name_f]Muse[/name_f] [name_f]Dagmar[/name_f] is nice though

Ooh [name_f]Muse[/name_f] with the [name_m]Dutch[/name_m] pn is so interesting, mystical and lovely!! I can see [name_f]Dagmar[/name_f] and [name_f]Muse[/name_f] together!!

I’m not a fan of [name_f]Muse[/name_f] as a name personally, mainly because there’s a somewhat ugly history of muse being used to describe and excuse young women and girls being abused or obsessed over by artists. In that regard I find the specific names of mythological muses, like [name_f]Clio[/name_f], [name_f]Thalia[/name_f], and [name_f]Calliope[/name_f], more appealing than the word muse itself. That’s just my personal hangup though.

[name_f]Muse[/name_f] [name_f]Dagmar[/name_f] does have a very nice ring to it!

i think it’s so underrated! i was also about to open a topic to ask for opinions
in spanish it’s pronounced like moo-sah (Musa) and i love it! it’s a word name that it’s not that used in the daily life, so i think it’s totally usable
plus the meaning of source of inspiration and art is just beautiful!
also, i don’t really think of the band when i hear the name, it’s not like [name_f]Nirvana[/name_f] or idk [name_u]Zeppelin[/name_u] imo

I feel this way about [name_f]Muse[/name_f] as well. Its a bit creepy.

I love Muse!! I’m definitely not a fan of the bad associations of it but I do think of the mythological figures before that. It sounds the same way in Spanish as it does in [name_m]Dutch[/name_m] and I still love that pronunciation too! [name_f]Muse[/name_f] and [name_f]Dagmar[/name_f] is so unbelievably cool. I think it’s super pretty but if you’re unnerved by the bad association I’d go with [name_m]Musa[/name_m] (which I think is gorgeous as well)

[name_f]Muse[/name_f] is a nice name! I prefer it pronounced Myoos/muus, but I also like the muu-sun pronunciation as well. I really like the connections with the Greek mythology. I don’t know any of the bad associations? [name_f]Muse[/name_f] and [name_f]Dagmar[/name_f] is a really cool sibset!
