My babes finally have their names!

You guys don’t know just how many times of logged onto here to announce our twins’ names only to give up because after a bit of thought those were just not it. Anyway, we are so happy to announce the arrival of [name_m]Perseus[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] “[name_u]Percy[/name_u]” and [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] [name_f]Fay[/name_f]. We hadn’t been planning to use matching initials, on the contrary, but it happened anyway.

[name_m]Perseus[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] “[name_u]Percy[/name_u]”: We had been back and forth between a bunch of names and I ended up letting my husband have the upper hand with this one. [name_u]Robin[/name_u] has been my favorite boy name for most of my adult life and we both figured that we’d regret not ever using it. [name_u]Robin[/name_u] is literary, sweet and is the name of an adorable little bird, but most of all it feels adventurous (because of [name_u]Robin[/name_u] Hood), boyish and also carries a lot of mythology and old world charm. [name_m]Perseus[/name_m] was along with [name_m]Theseus[/name_m] and [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] favorites of my husband, but won out in the end because [name_u]Percy[/name_u] completely conquered my heart. It just fit him!

[name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] [name_f]Fay[/name_f] “[name_f]Apple[/name_f]”: We took [name_f]Zenobia[/name_f] (which still is a favorite and was right up there on our list) alongside plan B [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] to the hospital with us to see if it fit and we still didn’t have a middle name decided and were desperate to find the perfect one. Husband then suggested [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] because he knows I’ve been obsessed with Arthurian legends since I was little and my love and dedication to studying the texts and mythology only grew as I matured. Anyway, I loved the idea so much that I went on a frenzy. It’s like a light-bulb went on in my head! Etymologically [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] means “the isle of the apple trees” and that got me thinking of going maybe [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] Paltrow-y and naming my daughter [name_f]Apple[/name_f], we considered it as a first and middle name, but decided we couldn’t pull it off, it wasn’t substantial enough and we’re not Hollywood celebrities. Anyway, researching names related to Apples we came across [name_f]Pomona[/name_f] and then finally [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] which completely won our hearts. [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] was perfect and felt like it belonged to our chubby and rose cheeked little girl. And finally, the middle name… [name_f]Fay[/name_f]. Obviously inspired by [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] [name_m]Le[/name_m] [name_f]Fay[/name_f] who is perhaps alongside [name_m]Merlin[/name_m] the greatest link to [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] and that beautiful pre [name_m]Christian[/name_m] mystical place of the adoration of the [name_f]Goddess[/name_f].

[name_m]Alas[/name_m], those are our babies’ names and we couldn’t be happier.

Congratulations! Their names are absolutely stunning!

Amazing names! I’m not usually one for matching initials on twins either but [name_m]Perseus[/name_m] and [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] are fabulously bold and eclectic together and have totally won me over. Congrats!

Congratulations

[name_m]Perseus[/name_m] and [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] are absolutely wonderful together. Congrats !

wow, they have stunning names!! I also love all of the meaning behind each name.
Congratulations!!

These are amazingly wonderful names!!!

[name_m]Perseus[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] is a winning combination of mythology, history, literature, and nature. [name_u]Percy[/name_u] is adorable and [name_u]Robin[/name_u] very sweet so they temper the hugeness of the first name.

[name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] [name_f]Fay[/name_f] is delicious. I love [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] so I get you.

Brava!

What wonderful names! I love Arthurian stuff, too, and named my son [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] because of that. He definitely lives up to his status as baby king. Wishing you and your children good health and happiness.

Congratulations! What a beautiful combination, and I love how you got it [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] [name_f]Fay[/name_f].

What utterly gorgeous names they have! Congratulations.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] popping by to say thanks for all of the nice comments on [name_u]Percy[/name_u] and [name_m]Pom[/name_m]'s names. This is such a wonderful community!

I had never heard the name [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] before this announcement! What a lovely name and sounds like it’s perfect for your daughter. I think you and your husband really found exactly what you wanted to express in your twins’ names.

Congratulations on two beautiful healthy babies!
