Hello nameberrry members, we had our heart set on the name [name_u]Jude[/name_u] for our girl due is 20 days !
Sadly my brother had a girl a couple days ago and for spite he chose the same name ;(
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] means generousity in Arabic and that’s why we chose the name , now we r in a pickle.
My other option would be [name_f]Yara[/name_f], and we’ve decided to add a middle name [name_f]Rose[/name_f], even though that’s not common in our culture, but I’ve decided to rebel after my brother’s dick move heheh,
So what do u guys think of [name_f]Yara[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] ? Thanq u all in advance
A baby name cannot be ‘stolen’ - no one owns a name, so if you really want to use it, use it. [name_f]Yara[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beautiful but I think you’re using it for the wrong reasons. Deciding to rebel after your brother’s “dick move” isn’t a good reason to choose a name.
That’s frustrating that he chose the name you wanted to use! That would throw me off a name too. [name_f]Yara[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beautiful, I think you should go for it. Or even [name_f]Yara[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] 
I think that you shouldn’t use [name_f]Rose[/name_f] just because you want to rebel, but because you actually love it. It sucks that your brother pulled that (assuming he knew that it was your baby choice) but don’t let your baby suffer by giving it a name for the wrong reasons~

Thank you all for the input. [name_f]Yara[/name_f] was my choice for the longest time , but then suddenly fell in love with [name_u]Jude[/name_u] half way through the pregnancy 
so I’m not forcing it on us lol,
Also I would have used the name [name_u]Jude[/name_u] anyways if it weren’t for the drama and pain associated with it now because of my brother 
and the way he talked down to me.
We always use the dad’s name as middle name , but I love the meaning of rose so much and I feel it sounds pretty with [name_f]Yara[/name_f]
So my question should’ve been does it sound too cliché ?? Is it old?

Anyways, I agree that [name_f]Yara[/name_f] is better than [name_u]Jude[/name_u] for a girl anyhow. Also, [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a pretty common middle, just in case that would bother you at all.
[name_f]Yara[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a lovely choice! I too, prefer it over [name_u]Jude[/name_u].

I disagree with the previous poster that if you really love the name [name_u]Jude[/name_u] that you should use it - even though your brother just named his daughter [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. We had a similar situation in my family with the name [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], and both of my family members decided to use it, so we now have two [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]'s who were born two months apart.
I personally would use [name_f]Yara[/name_f], which is also a very beautiful choice. However, don’t use [name_f]Rose[/name_f] out of spite just to go against your brother, because then you won’t truly love your baby’s name. I recommend using a name that means something to you and your family and that you truly love.

I really love [name_f]Yara[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], it is a much more feminine name that has a lovely meaning. I don’t think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a middle is a cliche or too old, especially combined with [name_f]Yara[/name_f], so as long as you are using [name_f]Yara[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] because you love it I say go for it. Also in the long run I think you will see your brother has done you a favour even if he didn’t mean to!
