At some point, I posted before but for some reason can’t find my post anyway. User error, clearly. I need help, I am two and a half weeks away from having these babies and feeling nutty about their names! Likely because I am the size of a barge and cannot sleep, and therefore obsess.
I have a daughter, [name_f]Pearl[/name_f].
The boy is going to be [name_u]August[/name_u], but we will call him [name_u]Gus[/name_u]. [name_u]August[/name_u] is DH’s birth month, and as neither of his names are really reusable, this is our way of naming after him. He needs a middle name. DH is not much for help on names. This is what we have agreed on, please let me know what you think.
[name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] (mn family)

I love [name_u]Gus[/name_u] and [name_f]Liv[/name_f] together, and [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] are favourites of mine.
I also like [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] though, so I’m not sure you can go wrong!
I love your list! [name_u]August[/name_u] is so handsome, and my favorite for you is [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]. [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is just beautiful! With your last name, and since it is 3 syllables, the alliteration does not bother me. [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is my favorite.
They’re all beautiful names! However [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] tops the list for me. It sounds so handsome and gentlemanly. For girls [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] sounds very pretty but where would you go with nicknames for that? [name_u]Gus[/name_u] and [name_f]Liv[/name_f] do sound adorable together. [name_m]Both[/name_m] of your girly names are gorgeous so just go with whatever feels right for you. I should be having my boy/boy twins in a couple of days so I know how you feel! It’s so hard to find names that even go together, let alone work out middles!
I really don’t think you can go wrong here - all of the options sound amazing. Personally, I prefer [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] with [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], mostly because the start of [name_u]August[/name_u] and the start of [name_f]Olive[/name_f] sound quite similar.
My choices would be:
[name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] (since your last name is three syllables, I like 2-1-3 more than 2-2-3, and I’m not a fan of [name_m]Clarke[/name_m] with [name_u]August[/name_u])
and
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] (I just really like the sound of this name, and the vibe it gives me)
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is a little more unusual than [name_f]Olive[/name_f], but I do think that [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] B– might be a bit much. [name_m]Say[/name_m] it aloud and see if you don’t mind. If its a true favourite, it won’t matter. That said, [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_u]Gus[/name_u] and [name_f]Liv[/name_f] is such a darling sibset!

This is a great list! I really like [name_u]Gus[/name_u] and [name_f]Liv[/name_f] but all together, [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] are quite wordy. [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is also wordy I suppose but it’s a little less obvious. So I think I’d go with [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]. (I’d just call her [name_f]Bee[/name_f] if you need to shorten it). [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is wonderful.
I don’t think you can really go wrong. [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_u]August[/name_u] & [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] make a great sibset though personally I prefer [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_u]August[/name_u] & [name_f]Olive[/name_f], mainly because I’m never quite sure how to pronounce [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], maybe it just doesn’t sound good in my accent? But regardless I think [name_f]Olive[/name_f] is darling.
I dislike the name [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]…at first I was sort of meh about it, but then I learned that it was pronounced bleeth (I had thought the “bly” syllable rhymed with “rye”) and I just don’t find that sound attractive. [name_f]Olive[/name_f], on the other hand, is quirky, spunky and adorable.
[name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] & [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] would be my decision, though if [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] means a lot to your husband, [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] makes a lovely combo as well.
