After a month of being known as ‘little brother’, my second-born has his name
He is Matthías [name_m]Karl[/name_m]!
[name_m]Karl[/name_m] is a well-used family name on his father’s side. He is the third generation in a direct line of Something Karls, so he is named after his father and his grandfather (as well as many others in the family). My own middle name is also a feminine version of the same name, so he’s a little bit named after his mother as well
Matthías is an international choice that we feel suits his British-Icelandic heritage and will work nicely in both of his languages and cultures. It also sounds good with his big sister’s name.
He will probably end up as [name_u]Matti[/name_u] to friends and family!
Matthías [name_m]Karl[/name_m] is stunning! It does feel international, and [name_u]Matti[/name_u] is simply adorable. Last year, a [name_u]Matti[/name_u] (just [name_u]Matti[/name_u]) was my favorite professor at the university.
