My boy names are all over the place!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone!

Im TTC baby #3 and super excited to start taking about names again!

I have a super hard time with boys names! The names I like are all over the place, and Im not really in love with any of them. The only boys name I do love is [name_m]William[/name_m] but my brother just had a son and named him [name_m]Willem[/name_m], so I really dont think I could use [name_m]William[/name_m] now. [name_f]My[/name_f] older children’s names are [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_u]James[/name_u] but I dont feel like the new baby’s name would have to “go with” their names at all.

Surname is [name_m]Price[/name_m] and middle name would definitely be a family name, most likely [name_m]William[/name_m] or [name_m]Edward[/name_m].

The names on my list currently are:

[name_u]Rory[/name_u] (2nd favorite I think?)
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m] (But [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] [name_m]Price[/name_m]…is that crazy??)
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] (nice, but short)
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] (Probably my favorite)
[name_m]Edison[/name_m] ([name_u]Love[/name_u] the [name_m]Edward[/name_m] tie-in, and DP is an electrical engineer so it fits us well. I dont like that its a trendy last-name-as-first-name tho)
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] (Too [name_m]Little[/name_m] Mermaid??)

As you can see, these names have no common theme at all LOL. Opinions are greatly appreciated

I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] [name_m]Price[/name_m] is hilarious. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t do it… But continue to drop it into conversation with loved ones just to keep them on their toes.

You have some great names on your list!

[name_f]My[/name_f] top 3 contenders are:
1 [name_m]Edison[/name_m] - I like the [name_m]Edward[/name_m] tie in and I think it’s cool that it has a connection to your DP’s career. Plus, I don’t think he would meet many [name_m]Edison[/name_m]'s. I think that since this one isn’t used too terribly often that it would not be considered trendy.
2 [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] - definitely not too [name_m]Little[/name_m] Mermaid. I think there’s even an actor that is plays in the new [name_m]Captain[/name_m] [name_u]America[/name_u] movie (The [name_u]Winter[/name_u] Soldier) whose real name is [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m].
3 [name_m]Leo[/name_m] - short, but a good solid name. I can picture it on a baby, a teenager or a grandpa.

I really like [name_u]Rory[/name_u], [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m].

Not too all over the place, all but [name_m]Edison[/name_m] are on my list. [name_m]Edison[/name_m] is fine too, but [name_m]Edison[/name_m] [name_m]Price[/name_m] sounds like a company name to me. I would avoid a surname for that reason.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the other 5. (Definitely do not associate [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] with the [name_m]Little[/name_m] Mermaid… didn’t that come out like 20+ years ago?!)

Just saw your other kids’ names… in which case my top picks are Sebastian, Henry, and Leo.

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] is perfect! Such a wonderful, historical name, [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Price[/name_m] sounds incredibly handsome, and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] make a lovely sibset.

[name_f]My[/name_f] second favourite is [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. Yes, it’s short, but it’s a strong choice with lots of character.

Good luck!

Firstly, to make it easier, I will group your names in “style families” because that’s the way my brain works. Some of your names do have a “common theme” but it’s hidden.

Surname As First Name

[name_m]Edison[/name_m]

Now, I will comment on each one individually.

[name_u]Rory[/name_u] - a little too cutesy for a grown man and we are adults for most of our lives.
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m] - I love this name but [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] [name_m]Price[/name_m] is not ideal.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] - I think this strong and handsome saint name is my favourite on your list although [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] are close behind. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] or [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] would be wonderful choices.
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] - I think this would be a fine addition to your family and it’s your fave too.
[name_m]Edison[/name_m] - This “n” ending name isn’t a trendy as some others like [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] and [name_u]Mason[/name_u] for example.
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] - I think of the saint before the Mermaid so that’s not a big deal for me. The name goes well with [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] would be lovely.

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] is my favorite from your list

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] is by far my favorite with [name_m]Edison[/name_m] as a close second. You have wonderful taste!

Thank you all so much, I really appreciate you take the time to answer and break these names down for me

I had to Google [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] [name_m]Price[/name_m]. Shame on me.

[name_m]Vincent[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] are my favorites with [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_u]James[/name_u]. Any of the three bridge the gap between the very classic [name_u]James[/name_u] and the frilly and literary [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is #64 in the US, roughly as popular as [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], [name_f]Maya[/name_f], and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], so I don’t think the [name_m]Little[/name_m] Mermaid connection should be a problem. There’s also that little cutie [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]Stan[/name_m] in the [name_f]Marvel[/name_f] movies if you need help picturing it on a human.

LOL my DP had no idea who [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] [name_m]Price[/name_m] was either, so don’t feel so bad!
