My celebrity baby

Babies are born to celebrities. It’s a fact of life. People like celebrities. That’s another fact. But some people like to name their babies after celebrity babies. Like at my son’s Tumble-[name]Bee[/name]'s class, there is a family of kids named [name]Brooklyn[/name], [name]Cruz[/name], [name]Romeo[/name] and [name]Shiloh[/name]. Names sound familiar? ( well, obviously [name]Shiloh[/name] is not a [name]Beckham[/name], but [name]Harper[/name] wasn’t born yet when [name]Shiloh[/name] was born!) What are your feelings on naming your babies after celebrities babies?

I think it sounds really tacky and like they’re trying too hard to be higher class then they really are.

I know someone with two sons named [name]Romeo[/name] & [name]Knox[/name] and when I heard their names, the only thought that came to my mind was, “Laaaaaaaaaaaame”
Definitely uninspired, in my opinion, but to each their own. Pretty sure she’d had my moldy oldy names-of-choice, so it’s all good.

It depends. If I like the name [name]Harper[/name], and it happened to be a celebrity baby name, I don’t see anything wrong with it. Or even if you love [name]Tom[/name] [name]Cruise[/name], so you decide to name your daughter [name]Suri[/name], after his. If the name isn’t exactly alike, it’s not so bad. Like with the same middle name, it is so tacky! Like if you used [name]Bronx[/name], [name]Shiloh[/name], [name]Zahara[/name] & [name]Romeo[/name], and used the same middle names as those celebrity kids, it sounds horrible, mostly in a sibset!!

Dont get mad at me, we all have our own opinions!

Well It might just be people never though of that name until then, and used it not that it’s named or anyone really. I love a lot of names for years like Shiloh, and Harper etc before these celeb kids were even born. I’d still use them despite them being on celeb kids but to say someone named their kid Shiloh after a celeb child is silly. Someone could be inspired by a name. I don’t see it any different then using a name from a book or movie.

For example I love Brooklyn on a boy, and I fell in love with it when Brooklyn Beckham was born and loved it since. So I could say he inspired the name, but I wouldn’t be naming my kid literally after him that’s silly.

I have to say naming your whole brood after a celebrity family is a little on the strange side. However, sometimes people hear a name on a celebrity baby and fall in love with it. Nothing wrong with that. I have to say, I am SOOOO angry that the [name]Beckham[/name]'s named their baby [name]Harper[/name], I cried a little inside. It’s been on my baby girl list since I can remember. Now, it’s so popular that we might consider nixing it when I really don’t want to. I just don’t want people saying “[name]Harper[/name], like [name]Victoria[/name]'s baby?!” UGH!!!

I think naming all of your children after a celebrity family is a little crazy, however, sometimes you hear a name from a celebrity and love it. Two of my top girl names came from TV shows, I’m not naming a baby after the show, I just watch the show and like the name. On the other hand, I would also find it odd if someone loved a name and refused to use it because a celebrity did. That’s silly to me. So what if your [name]Harper[/name] shares a name with a celebrity baby?

I like [name]Beck[/name], kinda inspired from [name]Beckham[/name],… I don’t find it copying, or weird.

Yeah I find it a little weird. However, I wouldn’t judge if they were to name their kids after their favorite actor/athlete (e.g. [name]Jolie[/name], [name]Peyton[/name], [name]Tom[/name], Aniston, [name]Brady[/name], ect), because they’ve actual done something already. All celebrity babies have done is survived a celebrity womb for nine months then enjoyed a luxurious babyhood…not impressive.

Im glad this is posted bc I have picked out 2 “Celebrity” names without even realizing it- which I hate, but I love my names!
So do you think it is bad if I wantt to name my boy [name]Knox[/name] (which everyone would understand is special to me because it is my maiden name) and [name]Vivian[/name] [name]Charles[/name] (though [name]Vivienne[/name] is [name]Angelina[/name]'s twin girl who is twins with [name]Knox[/name]) [name]Ann[/name] is for my mom whose name is annette and charles is my maternal grandfather’s name.

I actually fell in love with the name [name]Maddox[/name] when [name]Angelina[/name] named her first son, and I don’t think it would be completely crazy if I used it. It was just something I hadn’t heard before. If I did use it, I wouldnt be naming my child after him because I don’t know him personally! I would probably hesitate to use it now thoughjust because i wouldn’t want people to make fun of me for it.

[name_f]My[/name_f] 16-year-old son is named [name_u]Beck[/name_u] and I still love the name as much today as I did then. I remember the nurses at the hospital where he was born all loved it and would come in my room and say, “[name_u]Beck[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Thompson[/name_m], Ph.D.!” or “[name_u]Beck[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Thompson[/name_m], Attorney at [name_m]Law[/name_m]!” Apparently they thought it sounded dignified

I think it’s totally ok if only one child is named after a celebrity baby. For example I know a girl whose MN is [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] and she was born same year as [name_u]Angie[/name_u]‘s kid but her siblings’ names are [name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f].
But when there are 6 children in a family all called after the [name_f]Jolie[/name_f]-[name_m]Pitt[/name_m] bunch it’s kinda weird and would make anyone feel uncomfortable thinking that those parents have issues of some kind.
