[name]Antoinette[/name] is a name I have been fond of for a very long time. I’ve always adored [name]Maria[/name] [name]Antonia[/name]/ [name]Marie[/name] [name]Antoinette[/name] and been fascinated by her story, much like I am by Tsar [name]Nicholas[/name] II and his childrens, in particular, the Grand Duchesses. I love [name]Antoinette[/name] as a name too, its familar and yet strikingly beautiful (to me, at least.) It also would double as honouring my great great grandmother named [name]Antonia[/name] who was from [name]German[/name], whom I never met; but was told so many stories about.
I have always been a fond of Mary and yet with this name I can’t seem to get past [name]Marie[/name]. It seems like the perfect combination, but I could never use it because it would seem too controversial, but what goes well with [name]Antoinette[/name], both as a middle name or a first name?
I am friends with an [name]Antoinette[/name], and we call her [name]Tawny[/name]. It is the only -ette name that sounds nice to my ears and I think it’s due for a revival. However, [name]Marie[/name] or [name]Maria[/name] with it is simply too much. It’s like a Puritan virtue name such as [name]Obedience[/name]- simply too much to live up too.
What about some exotic variations of [name]Mary[/name] instead?
(Some of these are names on their own, like [name]Maia[/name], but are also versions of [name]Mary[/name] in different languages. [name]Maia[/name] is Basque, [name]Ria[/name] is a diminuitive).
I agree that [name]Antoinette[/name] is gorgeous. I went through a phase where I loved [name]Toni[/name] on a girl, and I also had [name]Antoinette[/name] in the middle-name spot on my list when I was a teen. Are you looking for something French to match it? Here are some ideas:
[name]Nadine[/name] [name]Antoinette[/name] << this was the combo on my list as a teen

I know a woman named [name]Antoinette[/name] and it is a very pretty name! She pronounces it [name]Ann[/name]-toe-nette. I think [name]Antonia[/name] is lovely too!
[name]Antoinette[/name] is lovely! I’m a huge [name]Antonia[/name] fan.
[name]Simplicity[/name] is the name of the game with it, [name]IMO[/name]. The [name]Antoinette[/name] [name]Renee[/name] suggestion aboves flows softly and doesn’t compete.
I like [name]Antoinette[/name] [name]Mae[/name] from [name]Marie[/name]. It doesn’t mimic it at all and it’s soft.
Others-

These are bolder but have good flow-
