My Dilemma With Emery

Hello berries! I’ve been liking [name_u]Emery[/name_u] for quite some time. [name_u]Love[/name_u] how it sounds both feminine and masculine, while being gender neutral. But I have a slight dilemma with [name_u]Emery[/name_u] is; is it too close to my old name; [name_f]Emily[/name_f]? Would it be weird even though I don’t go by that name? Also any mn suggestions for [name_u]Emery[/name_u] is always welcome! TIA!

I think that if you’ve changed your name from [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and don’t go by it, then I wouldn’t worry about! It’s kind of a cute little nod to your given name.

TBH I think that’s 100% up to you. The names are very similar but what really matters is whether or not that bothers you if doesn’t than go for it. If it makes you uncomfortable skip it.

If you don’t go by [name_f]Emily[/name_f] anymore, then you should totally go for it. [name_u]Emery[/name_u] is a beautiful name.

Only people who know your old name would be in the know, and also I think parents and children can have similar sounding names.

So, as an [name_u]Emery[/name_u] who grew up with [name_f]Emily[/name_f] being super popular and having Emily’s in my class, our names got mixed up all the time. However, that is not a problem I really have anymore since [name_u]Emery[/name_u] has been used more and [name_f]Emily[/name_f] not so much. I personally love my name. And if you don’t go by [name_f]Emily[/name_f] then I don’t think it should matter.
