[name]Fern[/name] is lovely, and a hell of a lot nicer than [name]Paisley[/name]!
[name]Fern[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name] is rather nice. What about [name]Fern[/name] [name]Theodosia[/name], [name]Fern[/name] [name]Morgana[/name], [name]Fern[/name] [name]Mathilda[/name], [name]Fern[/name] [name]Ceridwen[/name], [name]Fern[/name] [name]Jessenia[/name], [name]Fern[/name] Evanthia or [name]Fern[/name] [name]Keturah[/name]?
Wow, great suggestions for MNs. [name]Fern[/name] works really well with so many longer names, [name]Alexandra[/name] sounds a bit dull after some of those suggestions…
If this post has done anything, it has convinced me that I am most definitely not convinced that [name]Fern[/name] OR [name]Paisley[/name] is right for this baby
I dont have clear cut taste in names, nor is there any hyme or reason to those I do like…
These are the names on my list, they alternate as to which ones are at the top… I really thought [name]Paisley[/name] was the name but there are too many question marks around it now
[name]Paisley[/name]
[name]Lacey[/name] - Husband loves it, I do too but have a cousin with a daughter named [name]Lacey[/name] and its possibly slightly too common where I come from
[name]Fern[/name]
[name]Rosa[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it but dont want her to get [name]Rose[/name] as NN
[name]May[/name]/[name]Mae[/name] - (baby is due [name]May[/name] 3 and this is one my husband loves)
[name]Lana[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it but possibly too plain?
I like shorter names with no NNs, unusual but not bizarre, definitely feminine but not frilly
I really don’t like [name]Paisley[/name] or [name]Lacey[/name]-- both are surnames, insubstantial, likely to be dated ([name]Lacey[/name] already is) and remind me of fabric. And if you don’t like frilly, [name]Lacey[/name] is one to avoid. I like [name]Fern[/name], but I do think it would be a little hard to pull off. [name]Rosa[/name] is my name, and I’ve never been called [name]Rose[/name]… this is my favorite on your list. [name]May[/name]/[name]Mae[/name] is also lovely, but too much of a nickname for me. What about [name]Margaret[/name], [name]Mary[/name], [name]Madeleine[/name], or another Ma- name nn [name]Mae[/name]? [name]Lana[/name] is nice, but I do think it’s a little plain and boring. Would you be pronouncing it lay-na? If so, you could do [name]Helena[/name] or [name]Milena[/name] nn [name]Lena[/name]. Other suggestions:
I’m sorry you’re having such a hard time coming up with a name for your little girl. I have a blog that lists birth announcements that I find from sources all over the U.S., [name]London[/name], Australia . . .
I think [name]Fern[/name] is a beautiful name and I know of a one-year-old [name]Fern[/name] and it seems completely fresh and adorable on her. [name]Paisley[/name], while a nice sound, just reminds me of a dated print and is much more hippy sounding to me. I’m strongly in the [name]Fern[/name] camp and I’d consider using it myself!
Like the plant, but as a name it doesn’t strike me as especially attractive. The spelling reminds me of [name]Vern[/name] or [name]Bernie[/name], neither of which are especially feminine. It’s also one of those older lady names that doesn’t quite strike the pretty note for me… it’s more of a [name]Florence[/name] than a [name]Lily[/name].
[name]Fern[/name]'s an odd one for me. It’s absolutely female though not overly feminine. It’s not flowery in appearance or sound (no, pun not intended). It also feels lightweight in the same way long flower names do, and that [name]Paisley[/name] and [name]Lacey[/name] do for that matter. It’s not a familiar enough name to feel old. I’ve never decided whether I liked it or not.
I was going to respond with almost this exact answer. So I just want to agree with it. I find [name]Fern[/name] a bit to old and the sound does appeal to me, I think [name]Paisley[/name] is a much prettier choice (and I don’t think it’s too hippy).
I am personally not crazy about [name]Paisley[/name] or [name]Fern[/name], but I think I like the spelling of [name]Fern[/name] better this way -> [name]Fearne[/name], it somehow looks more feminine to me. It is pronounced the same way. That being said, it definitely goes with a lot of different middle names where you appear to have tons to pick from!
I am an Aussie and I have only ever heard of one [name]Fern[/name] and she would be around seven now. As I said before it was my top name for a daughter first time around. I still love it and it is not way out at all. I love the simplicity of it and it’s so feminine it doesn’t have an unisex feel to it at all.
I hope that you can use it even if it goes to the middle name spot.
I love [name]Fern[/name], and [name]Charlotte[/name]'s [name]Web[/name]. For some reason, the combinations of [name]Fern[/name] [name]Olivia[/name] is really appealing to me. WDYT?
