[name]Noella[/name] (nn [name]Ellie[/name]) - I prefer [name]Noelle[/name] but this is very pretty too
[name]Violette[/name] (nn [name]Lettie[/name]) - [name]Adore[/name] but perhaps [name]Violet[/name] is easier?

I can honestly say I loved pretty much your whole list! You have great taste:)

  • [name]Charlie[/name]

[name]Avalon[/name] (nn [name]Ava[/name], Avvy) - It is more of a place name to me. I prefer [name]Aveline[/name].

[name]Aurora[/name] (nn [name]Aurie[/name]) - So pretty! I love it!

[name]Collette[/name] (nn [name]Lettie[/name]) - So cute! My favorite name is [name]Cosette[/name], and this is so close!

[name]Daisy[/name] - I like this name on a child, but I don’t know how well a woman with this name would be taken seriously.

[name]Isabella[/name] (nn [name]Bella[/name]) - Has long been a favorite of mine, but the popularity has made it less appealing to me of late.

[name]Lily[/name] - Gorgeous! And I love many of the longer versions: [name]Lilian[/name], [name]Lilianna[/name], [name]Lillith[/name].

[name]Josephine[/name] (nn [name]Josie[/name]) - Again, so cute!

[name]Madeleine[/name] (nn [name]Maddy[/name]) - Used to be on my list, but the meaning has turned me off.

[name]Noella[/name] (nn [name]Ellie[/name]) - Perfect for a [name]December[/name] baby.

[name]Violette[/name] (nn [name]Lettie[/name]) - So sweet, and I love the -ette ending!

[name]Avalon[/name] (nn [name]Ava[/name], Avvy): It feels very mysterious and enchanting to me…
[name]Aurora[/name] (nn [name]Aurie[/name]): I love [name]Aurora[/name]…
[name]Collette[/name] (nn [name]Lettie[/name]): I love the [name]Colette[/name] spelling so much (the extra L reminds me of [name]Colleen[/name]), and think that [name]Lettie[/name] is darling.
[name]Daisy[/name]: Very sweet…I also think it’s a great nickname for [name]Margaret[/name].
[name]Isabella[/name] (nn [name]Bella[/name]): [name]Way[/name] too popular for me…
[name]Lily[/name]: I wish it weren’t so popular!
[name]Josephine[/name] (nn [name]Josie[/name]): I love it!
[name]Madeleine[/name] (nn [name]Maddy[/name]): I think it’s pretty, but all Mad names remind me of [name]Madison[/name] these days.
[name]Noella[/name] (nn [name]Ellie[/name]): I like some of your others more…
[name]Violette[/name] (nn [name]Lettie[/name]): Very pretty…

[name]Josephine[/name], [name]Aurora[/name], and [name]Violette[/name] are my favorites.

Take care!

[name]Avalon[/name] (nn [name]Ava[/name], Avvy)- I’d never thought of this before, but I [name]LOVE[/name] it! [name]King[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] fan? Also, I love the nn [name]Ava[/name] or Avvy…it allows the use of the beautiful name [name]Ava[/name] w/o using the oh so common name itself!
[name]Aurora[/name] (nn [name]Aurie[/name])- A name fit for a little Disney princess  It’s the kind of name a little girl would love, but I think it would age well too when paired with a simple middle name such as [name]Grace[/name], [name]Beth[/name], [name]Leigh[/name], [name]Lynn[/name], etc…
[name]Collette[/name] (nn [name]Lettie[/name])- nowhere near as pretty as your other names. It just seems harsh to me.
[name]Daisy[/name]- It’s ok, but I don’t think it would age well…all I can think of is [name]Daisy[/name] Duck. If you like flower names consider [name]Calla[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], or [name]Violet[/name].
[name]Isabella[/name] (nn [name]Bella[/name])- Pretty, but I alone know 3…there’s no telling how many [name]Isabella[/name]/[name]Isabelle[/name]/[name]Bella[/name]'s there will be in the next 5 years…especially after Twilight, but this name was rising fast even before that.
[name]Lily[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name] this name…a much prettier flower name than [name]Daisy[/name]. It is becoming popular…I’ve grown fond of [name]Lydia[/name] recently, which is very similar and nowhere near as common.
[name]Josephine[/name] (nn [name]Josie[/name])- I really don’t like [name]Josephine[/name], but I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Josie[/name]…maybe [name]Jocelyn[/name] with the nn Jocey?
[name]Madeleine[/name] (nn [name]Maddy[/name])- I REALLY like this one, but prefer the nn [name]Lennie[/name]…I don’t like [name]Maddy[/name] at all.
[name]Noella[/name] (nn [name]Ellie[/name])- I like [name]Noelle[/name] better, but this is pretty too…I don’t think it needs a nn though.
[name]Violette[/name] (nn [name]Lettie[/name])- Not a fan of it spelled this way…I really didlike the whole yoo-neek spelling trend. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Violet[/name], but don’t like [name]Lettie[/name] at all…once again, I don’t think this one needs a nn.

You have some really great names! My favorite from your list would have to be [name]Avalon[/name]. [name]How[/name] about [name]Avalon[/name] [name]Rose[/name]?

[name]Avalon[/name] (nn [name]Ava[/name], Avvy)-- not too fond of this one, but I like [name]Ava[/name] on its own
[name]Aurora[/name] (nn [name]Aurie[/name])-- very pretty, but what about [name]Rory[/name] as a nn instead of [name]Aurie[/name]?
[name]Collette[/name] (nn [name]Lettie[/name])-- don’t like it, sorry
[name]Daisy[/name]-- I only think of my cat!
[name]Isabella[/name] (nn [name]Bella[/name])-- [name]Adore[/name], but I wish it weren’t so popular!
[name]Lily[/name]-- my [name]FAVORITE[/name] name! but, alas, too popular!
[name]Josephine[/name] (nn [name]Josie[/name])-- I like [name]Josephine[/name], just not [name]Josie[/name]
[name]Madeleine[/name] (nn [name]Maddy[/name])-- [name]Adore[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name], especially spelled this way!
[name]Noella[/name] (nn [name]Ellie[/name])-- not fond of it…
[name]Violette[/name] (nn [name]Lettie[/name])-- very pretty! I like the nn “[name]Vi[/name]”, too

favorites-- [name]Lily[/name], [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Madeleine[/name] =)

[name]Josephine[/name] ([name]Josie[/name]) is my favorite on your list. It is pretty, classy, and elegant with a cute nickname.

I love [name]Avalon[/name], it’s not a name I’m bold enough to use, so kudos for considering it!
[name]Aurora[/name] seems great, but everyone seems to love it so I’m predicting it’ll get popular, and it doesn’t roll off of my tongue.
I can never figure out how to spell [name]Collette[/name], one L? Two L’s? What about T’s? And is there an E on the end? Okay!
[name]Daisy[/name] is adorable, enough said.
[name]Isabella[/name] is very floaty, princessy, also five year old girly. There are two in my youngest’s playgroup, four in my daughters preschool, and 3 in my sons kindergarten class, I kid you not.
[name]Lily[/name] is classic and beautiful, great pick!
[name]Josephine[/name] is classic and grown up, [name]Josie[/name] is perfect as a nickname, love it.
I never know how people spell [name]Madeleine[/name] anymore, and [name]Maddy[/name]/[name]Maddie[/name] is getting difficult too.
[name]Noella[/name], I’m not a fan, I speak french so I think christmas + La, or No [name]Ella[/name].
[name]Violette[/name], also not a fan, [name]Violet[/name] or [name]Violette[/name]? I never know! And I read it Violent, which, let’s face it, not okay. It’s a beautiful name and flower, just complicated on paper.
You have excellent taste though! The ones I love, I really really love!

Thanks for the responses. I am happy to see that [name]Avalon[/name] is accepted and not too unusual. Yes, I love the [name]King[/name] [name]Arther[/name] theme…my name is [name]Jenevieve[/name] which is close to [name]Guinevere[/name]. I like this connection without being too matchy.
I am starting to think [name]Isabella[/name] is too popular…I am not going to worry about popularity with the other names
Thanks again!

[name]Avalon[/name] (nn [name]Ava[/name], Avvy) ” very cute, I like it!
[name]Aurora[/name] (nn [name]Aurie[/name]) ” I really like this name, hubby doesn”t though.
[name]Collette[/name] (nn [name]Lettie[/name]) ” Not my style at all.
[name]Daisy[/name] ” gorgeous on a child, a bit weird on an adult.
[name]Isabella[/name] (nn [name]Bella[/name]) ” not a fan, and I predict due to the Twilight phenomena it will become really popular soon.
[name]Lily[/name] ” [name]LOVE[/name]. Plan to use this someday, except in the variation [name]Lillian[/name] after a great grandmother.
[name]Josephine[/name] (nn [name]Josie[/name]) ” Not my style, cute though.
[name]Madeleine[/name] (nn [name]Maddy[/name]) ” I like this, my husband hates it though.
[name]Noella[/name] (nn [name]Ellie[/name]) ” Not a fan.
[name]Violette[/name] (nn [name]Lettie[/name]) ” The name [name]Violet[/name] (and variations) always remind me of ”violent”. Can”t get past that.

I love [name]Violette[/name]. It’s what I am planning to call my child in the future, but my partner prefers ‘[name]Violet[/name]’ :frowning:
Nicknames could be Vie (‘life’ in French) and [name]Vi[/name].

I’m worried that people may find the spelling of [name]Violette[/name] too difficult. I don’t want her to always give her name as “[name]Violette[/name] - double T, E”

[name]Avalon[/name] (nn [name]Ava[/name], Avvy) - I want to like this but I just can’t for some reason. I like the sound but it is too much of a place name for me. I would like it on someone else’s child though, just not my own.
[name]Aurora[/name] (nn [name]Aurie[/name]) - I also want to like this because it sounds pretty and the nickname [name]Rory[/name] would be so adorable, but I’m just not too keen.
[name]Collette[/name] (nn [name]Lettie[/name]) - This is okay, it’s a little harsh sounding for me.
[name]Daisy[/name] - Very, very cute, but I am with some of the other posters in that I worry it wouldn’t age well. This is unfortunate because I really love this name too.
[name]Isabella[/name] (nn [name]Bella[/name]) - I really, really love [name]Isabella[/name]. It is so lovely sounding and rolls off the tongue. But I really can’t get past its popularity unfortunately, and this upsets me because it is my grandmother’s name and I would have loved to have used it. I prefer the Scottish variant [name]Isobel[/name] now, because it is much less common. I’d also use [name]Izzy[/name] as a nickname, as it’s less popular that [name]Bella[/name].
[name]Lily[/name] - My favourite girl’s name [name]EVER[/name]. But again, the popularity turns me off. It’s my other grandmother’s name and I will probably use [name]Lillian[/name] or [name]Lilliana[/name] instead (nn [name]Lily[/name]).
[name]Josephine[/name] (nn [name]Josie[/name]) - [name]Love[/name]!
[name]Madeleine[/name] (nn [name]Maddy[/name]) - I love this, but again, so popular! I hate that all the gorgeous names are in such common usage, I would rather people stick with tryynddee spellings and let me (and others on here) keep these names. I don’t like the nn [name]Maddy[/name] though. Maybe [name]Lainey[/name]?
[name]Noella[/name] (nn [name]Ellie[/name]) - Not a huge fan.
[name]Violette[/name] (nn [name]Lettie[/name]) - Not a fan of [name]Violet[/name]/[name]Violette[/name] very much.

Favourites (regardless of popularity) - [name]Lily[/name], [name]Isabella[/name], [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Madeleine[/name].

I do really like your list, BUT I am not a fan of nicknames unless it makes sense as in josie.

[name]Avalon[/name] (nn [name]Ava[/name], Avvy) love the name dont like nn
[name]Aurora[/name] (nn [name]Aurie[/name]) this name is the least distinct on your list although still nice, nn not good
[name]Collette[/name] (nn [name]Lettie[/name]) collette nice lettie gross
[name]Daisy[/name]: maybe as a nn for [name]Margaruite[/name]? but as a sand alone its too cutsey
[name]Isabella[/name] (nn [name]Bella[/name]) NO NO NO way too popular
[name]Lily[/name] cute although popular
[name]Josephine[/name] (nn [name]Josie[/name]) like
[name]Madeleine[/name] (nn [name]Maddy[/name]) also way too pop
[name]Noella[/name] (nn [name]Ellie[/name]) just ok
[name]Violette[/name] (nn [name]Lettie[/name]) I like the double E T spelling so cute like nn [name]Vi[/name] or [name]VIVI[/name] but not lettie

out of curiosity do you think [name]Josephine[/name]'s nn may be [name]Jo[/name] even though [name]Josie[/name] is so much cuter. i myself love [name]Josie[/name] / posey/ [name]Fifi[/name] but not jo. is there a way of encouraging the nn of your choice and avoiding the other?
