My first list! Thoughts and suggestions?

[name]Hi[/name]! I’d love opinions on these.

[name]Sylvie[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name] ([name]Jo[/name] or [name]Effie[/name])
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Vivienne[/name] ([name]Vivi[/name])
[name]Beatrice[/name] ([name]Bea[/name] or [name]Tris[/name])
[name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Wren[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Juniper[/name]
[name]Isobel[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]

So, what do you think? What names should I add? I’m not pregnant, but I do have a naming thing going on. Thanks!

[name]Sylvie[/name]- I can’t see this as the name of a grown woman. What about [name]Sylvia[/name] or [name]Sylva[/name] with [name]Sylvie[/name] as a nn?
[name]Josephine[/name]- I love the name, [name]Jo[/name] as a nn is ok, not fond of [name]Effie[/name]. Makes me think of an elf.
[name]Iris[/name]- interesting name, not exactly pretty, but an alright choice.
[name]Violet[/name]- I can’t get behind this one…not only does it remind me strongly of the word violent, it’s also becoming very popular.
[name]Ruby[/name]- love this one- spunky but suitable for all ages.
[name]Vivienne[/name]- pretty without being very overly girly- it is a starbaby name, but it’s also pretty in its own right and not likelyto be remembered solely for [name]Vivienne[/name] [name]Jolie[/name]-[name]Pitt[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]- an ok name, not fond of [name]Bea[/name] or [name]Tris[/name] though
[name]Scarlett[/name]- I think this is one of those names that doesn’t age well and is really trendy…also, one of those names that doesn’t suit every type of girl. Can you imagine a plain, shy [name]Scarlett[/name]?
[name]Hazel[/name]- okay, nms
[name]Wren[/name]- same
[name]Imogen[/name]-just can’t like this one, also unsure how to pronounce or spell will be a recurring theme
[name]Alice[/name]- love this one. Suitable for all ages and personalities, with [name]Ali[/name] as a possible nn
[name]Juniper[/name]- this has always seemed more nn-y to me, and like it wouldn’t age well
[name]Isobel[/name]- lovely if popular
[name]Fiona[/name]- nice

[name]Sylvie[/name]- it’s an okay name, but not one of my favourites
[name]Josephine[/name] ([name]Jo[/name] or [name]Effie[/name])- [name]Josephine[/name] is nice, but I used to like it way more than I do now. I like it with the nickname [name]Effy[/name].
[name]Iris[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name] this! It’s my #1 girl name (and has been for a few years)
[name]Violet[/name]- I’ve come to like [name]Violet[/name]. It’s nice.
[name]Ruby[/name]- I hate [name]Ruby[/name], sorry. I don’t like the sound of it at all, though I do like the style.
[name]Vivienne[/name] ([name]Vivi[/name])- [name]Vivienne[/name]… eeh. I go back & forth on it. My middle name is [name]Vivian[/name] (which was my grandmother’s name) and I love that but [name]Vivienne[/name] isn’t a favourite of mine. I feel like I should be head-over-heels for it, but I’m not. Sorry.
[name]Beatrice[/name] ([name]Bea[/name] or [name]Tris[/name])- I love love love this in Italian, but don’t like it in English.
[name]Scarlett[/name]- I don’t like [name]Scarlett[/name] at all, sorry. I loved it when I was 16-17, but it’s not one I care for any more.
[name]Hazel[/name]- I like [name]Hazel[/name]! It’s sweet.
[name]Wren[/name]- I kind of like [name]Wren[/name]. I don’t dislike it, but it doesn’t really make my heart jump or anything.
[name]Imogen[/name]- Nice! [name]Imogen[/name] is pretty!
[name]Alice[/name]- I love [name]Alice[/name], very nice!
[name]Juniper[/name]- I don’t understand the love for this name at all… not appealing in sound what so ever for me. I do love [name]June[/name] and [name]Junia[/name], though.
[name]Isobel[/name]- this is my favourite spelling of the name, but I’m not particularly passionate about it.
[name]Fiona[/name]- [name]Fiona[/name] is great! I’m always happy to see it.

This list is sure to be a hit around here. I’m in a severe minority since I’m not crazy about any of these but I [name]Wren[/name], [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name] are sweet and [name]Vivienne[/name] is starting to grow on me a bit. You might like [name]Azalea[/name] as well.

You have some wonderful names on your list. Here are my thoughts/opinions.

[name]Sylvie[/name] - Ok but there are so many other French names that are prettier!
[name]Josephine[/name] ([name]Jo[/name] or [name]Effie[/name]) - I love this name and prefer [name]Effie[/name] as the nn.
[name]Iris[/name] - very nice
[name]Violet[/name] - one of my favourite flower names
[name]Ruby[/name] - spunky
[name]Vivienne[/name] ([name]Vivi[/name]) - I used to like this name more than I do now. I don’t know why it’s lost it’s magic for me because there’s nothing wrong with it.
[name]Beatrice[/name] ([name]Bea[/name] or [name]Tris[/name]) - I prefer the spunkier [name]Beatrix[/name] which is actually the original Latin version of the name.
[name]Scarlett[/name] - Trendy and unappealing with all sorts of negative associations (eg. scarlet woman, scarlet fever, spoiled [name]Scarlett[/name] O’[name]Hara[/name]).
[name]Hazel[/name] - Nice enough but I prefer [name]Mabel[/name].
[name]Wren[/name] - I like the soft sound of this name but I think it works better in the middle spot.
[name]Imogen[/name] - A Shakespearean gem
[name]Alice[/name] - This is my mn so I’m biased.
[name]Juniper[/name] - See [name]Wren[/name]
[name]Isobel[/name] - I like this Scottish spelling of the name along with [name]Isabel[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name] - It’s not my favourite Celtic name but I may be in the minority here on Nameberry

[name]Sylvie[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]!
[name]Josephine[/name] ([name]Jo[/name] or [name]Effie[/name])- [name]LOVE[/name], and definitely with NN [name]Effie[/name] over [name]Jo[/name]
[name]Iris[/name] - nice
[name]Violet[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name] and so sweet
[name]Ruby[/name] - lots of sass and spunk but in a good way
[name]Vivienne[/name] ([name]Vivi[/name]) - [name]Love[/name], especially this spelling
[name]Beatrice[/name] ([name]Bea[/name] or [name]Tris[/name]) - not a fan sorry, I love vintage names but this is so stuffy and old, and I personally have never met a [name]Beatrice[/name] who was even close to nice
[name]Scarlett[/name] - So Romantic!
[name]Hazel[/name] - seems more like an eye color than a name
[name]Wren[/name] - nice, but a little to short and unsubstantial for a FN
[name]Imogen[/name] - nice, just does not have that spark for me, but that is just personal preference
[name]Alice[/name] - A little stuffy to me :frowning:
[name]Juniper[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name], so sweet, quirky and cute
[name]Isobel[/name] - love the name but I think this is probably my least favorite spelling, I like [name]Isabelle[/name] the best
[name]Fiona[/name] - Seems like a lot of name to carry, I met a little [name]Fiona[/name] once and she did it justice, just not sure everyone can

You have a wonderful list!

This is essentially my list! It even includes both of my daughters’ names! The only ones I don’t adore are [name]Isobel[/name] (mainly just because of the popularity of [name]Isabella[/name]/[name]Isabelle[/name]…it is very pretty), and [name]Scarlett[/name]. I also waffle back and forth on [name]Violet[/name]. I like the idea of a color/flower name and the individual sounds of it, but it sounds SO close to the way people tend to say “violent” or even “violate” that it bugs me. Nice taste, though!

[name]Sylvie[/name] - love! It’s so French chic and sweet. I would love to meet a [name]Sylvie[/name]!
[name]Josephine[/name] ([name]Jo[/name] or [name]Effie[/name]) - I like [name]Josephine[/name] a lot, but prefer it in the MN spot. Mainly because I don’t like the nns most people love ([name]Jo[/name], [name]Josie[/name], [name]Effie[/name], etc.–I much prefer [name]Poppy[/name] and [name]Posey[/name]!).
[name]Iris[/name] - like a lot. It feels too “strong” for a FN, for some reason, but I think it’s stunning regardless, and love it as a MN.
[name]Violet[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]! It’s on my top 5.
[name]Ruby[/name] - like a lot. I think [name]Ruby[/name] might be back on my list as a MN.
[name]Vivienne[/name] ([name]Vivi[/name]) - I love the nn [name]Vivi[/name], and I like [name]Vivienne[/name]. I like [name]Genevieve[/name], nn [name]Vivi[/name], a little bit more.
[name]Beatrice[/name] ([name]Bea[/name] or [name]Tris[/name]) - I like [name]Bea[/name], but I’ve never been crazy about [name]Beatrice[/name]. I like [name]Beatrix[/name] so much more.
[name]Scarlett[/name] - not really a fan, sorry. I like [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] a lot more.
[name]Hazel[/name] - like a lot! It was on my radar several years ago, and I forgot about it, and now I’m falling for it again. It has such vintage, sweet charm.
[name]Wren[/name] - love! I would use this as a family name, but I think it’s a marvelous name regardless. It’s just so sweet.
[name]Imogen[/name] - like a lot. This is a MN on my list–I think [name]Immy[/name] and [name]Gen[/name] are adorable nns, though.
[name]Alice[/name] - like a lot! It’s on my long list. I don’t love the [name]Alice[/name] in Wonderland association, but it’s just so sweet.
[name]Juniper[/name] - I really like this, too! I’ve been considering it as a MN.
[name]Isobel[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]! [name]Isabelle[/name] (this spelling) is my top choice for a girl, but the Scottish [name]Isobel[/name] is lovely.
[name]Fiona[/name] - not a huge fan. I like it more as a MN, but I do like it.

[name]Isobel[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Sylvie[/name], [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Wren[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Imogen[/name], and [name]Juniper[/name] are my favorites! Probably in approximately that order, as well.

Good luck!
