My friends and I are too similiar

So my friend is getting married in the spring, and she mentioned that, when the time comes (we’re both 19), she and her fiance want a daughter named [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Rae[/name].
As for myself, I someday hope to have a daughter named [name]Evangeline[/name]. If that were to happen, would it be bad to have two little Evies running around, or should I just scrap that and think of something else ? I always thought it would be cute to have an [name]Evie[/name] 1 and [name]Evie[/name] 2, or maybe even call her [name]Lena[/name] (friend’s nickname). WDYT?

P.S. Along the lines of similar taste, it turns out that “[name]Lena[/name]”, my other friend, and I all want a little boy named [name]Gabriel[/name]. Now THAT we’ll have to compromise on.

There are tons of nickname ideas for [name]Evangeline[/name], and others for [name]Evelyn[/name]. [name]Evelyn[/name] doesn’t need a nickname, and the nickname of [name]Evie[/name] doesn’t fit with [name]Evelyn[/name] to me because the sounds are so different to my ears.

Tastes can change a lot with in a year, let alone longer! [name]Don[/name]'t worry about it :stuck_out_tongue:

No need to worry.

First off, your tastes are quite likely to change in the next several years, by the time you both actually HAVE daughters, you may have other names on your list, you may compromise with your significant others to find other names, you may end up raising your children in different locations, a lot can happen! If you both end up with little Evies, it could be adorable, but for now, have fun picturing it and dont worry about the logistics.

I also would not worry about it now. [name]One[/name] of my closest friends in college wanted a [name]Zoe[/name] and I really liked [name]Chloe[/name] back then…she has an [name]Isla[/name] and neither of my girls are [name]Chloe[/name] and even if we did have our [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Chloe[/name], she lives in [name]Florida[/name] now and me in the north eastern part of the country.

My and a few of my friends were out for a meal and we were talking about baby names (we’re all 18/19 too) and we all love the name [name]Noah[/name] for a boy and [name]Florence[/name] is on most of out girl lists. So we might end up with four Noahs and a couple of Florences, of course I think we might change our minds but it’s funny how friends seem to have similar name tastes

I’m not saying it’s going to happen, because it’s probably not, but I’m merely speaking in hypotheticals: would it be bad to give your kids the same/similar names as yours friends? I mean, it’s not like they have a claim over a name or anything.
Also, I’ve found that my sister also has extremely similar taste to mine (not sure if I should feel threatened or validated), so I think the names I actually really want to consider I’ll keep sealed tight.
