Last evening my third granddaughter arrived four weeks early. I guess she wanted to be around for the [name]Christmas[/name] festivities. Her name is [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Rebecca[/name]. She joins a sister, [name]Emma[/name] [name]Kathryn[/name]. And a first cousin [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Nora[/name].
Congratulations!

Congratulations and all the babies have beautiful names.

PS I am pleased to know that there is another nameberry grandmother!
Im a nameberry grandma too! :)–[name]Eleanor[/name] is brilliant! All your granddaughters have lovely names!
[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Rebecca[/name] is gorgeous! Such a classic, feminine, but wonderfully unfrilly name, I love it! [name]Emma[/name] [name]Kathryn[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Rebecca[/name] are amazing for sisters.
All the best to your daughter and your whole family!
Thank you. I didn’t explain why they named the girls what they did, so now I will. [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Rebecca[/name] was my mothers name, and my name is [name]Rebecca[/name] [name]Marie[/name]. My daughter wanted to name her after her grandmother, who was very special to her and was also somewhat of a name nerd like us. Plus of all the names my daughter picked, [name]Ellie[/name] was my son in law’s favorite. So [name]Eleanor[/name]'s nn is [name]Ellie[/name]. [name]Emma[/name] [name]Kathryn[/name] her sister is twenty one months old. Some people tried to discourage my daughter from naming her [name]Emma[/name] because it was to popular. But she has loved the name for a long time, probably since high school. My daughter is 26. [name]Emma[/name] was my grandmothers name so she justified it to those people because it was a family name. [name]Kathryn[/name] is my son in law’s mother. So they followed the traditional Scandinavian naming system without being aware of it, by naming the first daughter after the father’s mother and the second daughter after the mother’s mother. My son in law’s grandmother’s names were [name]Elsa[/name] and [name]Clara[/name], which I love, but for some reason he called them old lady names. Once my daughter said a few months ago that she was naming her [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Rebecca[/name], I kept my mouth shut about names so she wouldn’t change it. My daughters favorite name after [name]Emma[/name] was [name]Sophia[/name], but my son in law didn’t like [name]Sophia[/name]. I am happy about the choices they made, so that is why I shared it here.
My other granddaughter was named [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Nora[/name], because her mother’s, my other daughter, middle name is [name]Elizabeth[/name] and my other son in laws grandmother’s name is [name]Nora[/name]. I love the name [name]Nora[/name]. This baby is sixteen months. I suggested [name]Nora[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], but my son in law’s other grandmother was complaining and asking why they named [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Nora[/name] after his other grandmother and not her. Enough said about that grandmother if you know what I mean. So [name]Nora[/name] remained her middle name.
The other name nerdiness of this, is my mother’s family had a preponderance of E names. Her name was [name]Eleanor[/name] and she was the youngest female cousin, her sisters were named [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Elsie[/name]. She had cousins named [name]Esther[/name], [name]Eunice[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], and [name]Ethel[/name]. The other female cousins were [name]Agnes[/name] and [name]Nora[/name]. Six E’s, two A’s, and a N.
Thank you all for the well wishes. I am glad I have you all to share this with.
Congrats! You are very blessed to have granddaughters with such beautiful names. it’s always wonderful when a grandchild is born, but even better when they have a great name! Enjoy your lovely granddaughter and I do hope she is a bright, happy, and healthy little girl.
