[name]Hi[/name] again, [name]Kelli[/name]!
I am breaking my NB vacation to check in on you and the naming situation, and I see you have made some progress. Of your new list, I definitely prefer both [name]Ruby[/name] or [name]Audrey[/name] with [name]Isla[/name]. Yes, both names are much more “English” in style than [name]Isla[/name], and both names seem, well, heavier than [name]Isla[/name], but they sound cute together! [name]Matilda[/name] seems too vintage for my taste with the light and airy [name]Isla[/name], and I honestly forgot what the fourth name on the new list was - I must not care for it very much with [name]Isla[/name]. Sorry!
[name]EDIT[/name] - [name]Harper[/name]! I do like [name]Harper[/name], but you seem quite concerned with it being unisex whereas [name]Isla[/name] is feminine. [name]Harper[/name] [name]Joy[/name] is darling, though…
I would definitely choose either [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Joy[/name] or [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Jean[/name]. My issue, however, is that [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Jean[/name] - with that name combination - looks like an “old lady” name compared to [name]Isla[/name] [name]Hope[/name], which looks comparably youthful! Is there any other middle name - one-syllable - that would work? [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Joy[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Claire[/name] don’t sound as “right” as [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Jean[/name]. Thus, my name choice would be [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Joy[/name], for sure! Two problems with this decision - 1) it sort of locks you into a two-syllable vowel name for a first name for future girls, and 2) it locks you into a one-syllable virtue name for future girl middle names (i.e., [name]Faith[/name] and [name]Grace[/name] will likely make an appearance!)…
Maybe [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name] would be a better choice - I just am at a loss!
[name]Kelli[/name], you probably don’t new material to work with, but I found a few names that I really like with [name]Isla[/name] [name]Hope[/name]…
[name]Bevin[/name] [name]Joy[/name] - The [name]Bev[/name] nickname is a bit dated, and [name]Bevin[/name] is clearly unisex, so this might not be on the list for long. [name]Bee[/name] is cute, though!
[name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Joy[/name] ([name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Claire[/name]) - I love the sound of [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Elspeth[/name]! [name]Both[/name] are classic in sound, but they look cool and unique at the same time. You could call her any number of things from [name]Elspeth[/name], [name]Elsa[/name], or [name]Elsie[/name] to [name]Elle[/name] or [name]Ellie[/name]!
[name]Flora[/name] [name]Joy[/name] - [name]Flora[/name] meets the light and airy criteria spot on. [name]Flora[/name] and [name]Isla[/name] might get a bit sing-song-y, though…
[name]Mairi[/name] [name]Joy[/name] [MAH-ree] - Let’s get back on track with the general region of origin, shall we? This name looks cute and spunky, like [name]Isla[/name], and has a unique sound! I actually have a relative named [name]Mari[/name], but it is the same pronunciation for her. [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Mairi[/name]? Cute!
[name]Sorcha[/name] [name]Claire[/name] - I think [name]Sorcha[/name] is a cool name, but I recently discovered it isn’t said how I say it! Is it really [SOR-ra] without the SCH sound? Anyway, I still like [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Sorcha[/name].
[name]Ciara[/name] [name]Jean[/name] ([name]Ciara[/name] [name]Joy[/name]) - As fun and feminine as [name]Isla[/name], this [[name]KEER[/name]-ah] is a winner! Only issues? Pronunciation and -a ending…
[name]Tegan[/name] [name]Joy[/name] - Too unisex, you say? Personally, I’ve only ever known female [name]Tegan[/name]'s, but it is up to you. I just like this name so much, and [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Tegan[/name] sound very sweet together!
[name]Pippa[/name] [name]Claire[/name] - I know [name]Pippa[/name] is off in origin, but I saw it and thought of you for some reason. [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Pippa[/name] are both so much fun! You could call her [name]Pippi[/name], too - I knew a girl called [name]Pippi[/name] a few years ago, but her fall name was [name]Alexandra[/name]. Strange. As for middle names, I’d choose [name]Claire[/name] over one of your J names because, with something like [name]Pippa[/name] [name]Joy[/name], you’d end up with PJS for initials, and I think it is too much like PJ’s, or pajamas…
Good luck, [name]Kelli[/name]! I’ll try to be back on sometime to check your responses…
