I’m due to have this baby next month and she still has no name. [name_f]Every[/name_f] time we get somewhere he just changes his mind- I’m starting to run out of suggestions. I still say we go with [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], he likes it and I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it and it sounds good with our last name and easy to pronounce with our immigrant families/family abroad. He’s been throwing more names around even though I thought we decided… anyway, here’s what he decided he likes the most and wants to name her. I don’t [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] any of them, I do like some but none of them feel right to me. I might compromise because at this point I just need her to have a name. I want to love it. Maybe by seeing what he likes you guys can offer some insight ??
He likes:
[name_u]Emery[/name_u]
[name_u]Emerson[/name_u]
[name_f]Perri[/name_f] (??? where did this come from [name_m]Stephen[/name_m]??)
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] (I like this name alot, but spelled [name_f]Alaina[/name_f]- he prefers E names)
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]Carly[/name_f]
I can see myself going with [name_u]Emery[/name_u], [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] or [name_f]Elena[/name_f]/[name_f]Alaina[/name_f] but the rest are not my style. What can I suggest that’s a little more fresh, beautiful, and feminine?
Another suggestion I just thought of is [name_f]Helena[/name_f] pronounced like Heh-lay-nuh. [name_m]Just[/name_m] like [name_f]Elena[/name_f] with an H.
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] was on our shortlist until very recently. Our remaining contenders with a similar sound are [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] (we pronounce it [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-leen), so I would suggest either of those.
I second the suggestion of [name_f]Eliana[/name_f], but really I think [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is your best option. I’d try and talk him back around to it if I were you.
I think [name_u]Emery[/name_u] / [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] feel like “outliers” in your names. All your other names are quite feminine & classic in comparison.
Other names with a similar sound —*
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] ([name_f]Emma[/name_f]-[name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-[name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-Briget?)
[name_f]Emer[/name_f]
[name_f]Emerald[/name_f]
[name_f]Emiliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Emeline[/name_f]

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Glory[/name_f]
[name_u]Everly[/name_u]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
If you both like [name_f]Elena[/name_f], I would go with that one! I let my DH choose how we would spell our DS’s name, because there are many variations… you’ll be saying it more than you’ll be writing it
Funny that he likes perry. Maybe he would like [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]. I often want to use the nickname perry for someone named [name_f]Pearl[/name_f].
It’s easy to spell and is feminine.
You may also want to consider using a hyphenated name so you can each have a choice. If you did this, for example, he may choose [name_u]Emery[/name_u] and you may want to use [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]. [name_u]Emery[/name_u]-[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] could work. Nickname [name_u]Perry[/name_u] or [name_f]Emme[/name_f], or [name_f]Emmy[/name_f].
What about:
[name_u]Evan[/name_u]
[name_f]Brighton[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_f]Ebony[/name_f]
[name_f]Amity[/name_f]

[name_m]Lennox[/name_m] nn [name_m]Lenny[/name_m], [name_u]Lex[/name_u], [name_f]Lena[/name_f], etc
