My List vs. The Top 1000

I was inspired by S/O’s concern about using names from the 1940s/1950s that haven’t ranked in the top 1000 in recent years and my own curiosity to research the years my names were in the top 1000 from and how long this period was. The data’s not perfect, and if the names were absent for a period of less than 5 years, I didn’t count this absence in my research, so the number of years may be slightly off :slight_smile:

As usual, I felt like sharing this information (as I did before with the peak years for my girls and boys lists - I’ve only done the girls for this so far, as all of my boys list is pretty classic and has always been in the top 1000 anyways), so I hope you find it interesting too :slight_smile:

This was very interesting! I was surprised by quite a few that had such long runs. Thanks for sharing! I, for one, always love reading data like this. :slight_smile:

I feel like I want to research this info for my own list now. Such a neat idea!

[name_f]Danica[/name_f] (why does this name not get used more?)
[name_f]Geneva[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] (though much prefer the [name_f]Suzannah[/name_f] spelling)

@eleanorvintage - Thank you so much! :smiley:
@greyblue - I thought so too! Never would have thought [name_f]Brenda[/name_f] outlasted [name_f]Wendy[/name_f] or [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]!
@elanorelle - I was surprised too! I definitely think you should, it was very fun to look into! Now I’m combining it with my research into when they peaked in popularity as well, so it’s quite neat!
@almostactually - Thank you! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
@esita - Thank you so much! I’ve also done a post where I listed the name most of them peaked in (the list has grown since then, lol)! :slight_smile: And oh my gosh, isn’t [name_f]Merrily[/name_f] just the sweetest?? Really hoping S/O will get on board there!
