I’d love to hear your thoughts on my list of girls names. It would be great if you could choose your top three/ bottom three.
Please feel free to offer suggestions that you think would fit my style.
I have one daughter - her name is included in this list but I don’t wish to share publicly. I also don’t want your opinions/suggestions to be swayed too much by knowing the sibling name. I hope you understand
[name]Cosima[/name] - A lack of nicknames and a harsh sound, interesting but a lot of your names are interesting, nearly propelled to bottom 3.
[name]Marguerite[/name] - A favourite of mine, nice sound, nice meaning, many nicknames. Top 3.
Clémence - Not fond of this. [name]Just[/name] not as nice as many of your others.
[name]Marigold[/name] - A bit “cuter” than some of your other choices but I like it a lot.
[name]Flora[/name] - A little simpler than some of your others but still vintage and femme.
[name]Ida[/name] - Vintage, but not exotic or romantic.
[name]Ines[/name] - [name]Do[/name] love this. [name]Just[/name] ran out of 3 in my top 3.
[name]Apolline[/name] - Like, but not love.
[name]Ursula[/name] - [name]Love[/name], but hard to use well. A lot of name, as it were.
[name]Delphine[/name] - [name]Adore[/name] [name]Delphine[/name].
[name]Opal[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this, nearly in the top 3. Still in top 5. Not as frilly as your others, though?
[name]Isadora[/name] - Not bad, not a favourite though.
[name]Ottoline[/name] - I find this much harsher than alternatives like [name]Opal[/name], [name]Ottavia[/name], or [name]Odette[/name].
[name]Calliope[/name] - I love the NN [name]Callie[/name] but the association with circus music kills [name]Calliope[/name] for me.
[name]Henriette[/name] - Interesting. Too brave for me.
[name]Frieda[/name] - Clunky, heavy. [name]Ran[/name] out of bottom 3, but its right up there.
[name]Primrose[/name] - Sweet, but not exotic.
[name]Constance[/name] - I like this, but its not my favourite virtue name.
[name]Dorothea[/name] - Oh, [name]Dorothea[/name], I love [name]Dorothea[/name]. Would be in top 5.

Bottom 3: [name]Dorothea[/name], [name]Constance[/name] and [name]Opal[/name].

Based on your list I’m assuming you’re from a different locality than I am, so take all this with a grain of salt since I’m basing it on what would work in my [name]California[/name] neighborhood.
[name]Cosima[/name] - it has a pretty sound but is too much like [name]Cosmo[/name] for me to like it
[name]Marguerite[/name] - lovely
Clémence - very pretty, can’t think of any shortening I like, but the meaning is nice [name]Marigold[/name] - pretty, I like that it’s simple yet unique and versatile
[name]Eulalie[/name] - mouthful of l’s, doesn’t feel namelike to me
[name]Flora[/name] - pretty, I prefer [name]Fauna[/name] and [name]Fern[/name] though
[name]Ida[/name] - meh, hasn’t ascended from old-lady territory for me
[name]Ines[/name] - hmm, never heard of it, feels unfinished
[name]Apolline[/name] - I like that [name]Polly[/name] is an option, it’s okay
[name]Ursula[/name] - sorry all I think is the horrible villain from [name]Little[/name] Mermaid
[name]Delphine[/name] - I like [name]Della[/name], it’s okay, I wouldn’t choose it but it’s a pretty sound
[name]Opal[/name] - okay, so many other gem names that I prefer [name]Isadora[/name] - I love this one, so much prettier than [name]Isabell[/name] imo
[name]Ottoline[/name] - meh, [name]Otto[/name] just sounds like a nazi to me so it’s hard to make it feel pretty in my mind. [name]Calliope[/name] - pretty, a bit out there but if you’re adventurous then I like it
[name]Henriette[/name] - okay, I’m not super fond of feminization but it’s not terrible
[name]Frieda[/name] - I don’t like this at all, sounds old lady and it’s the name of a hair product I use
[name]Primrose[/name] - okay, bit bandwagony these days but it’s not bad
[name]Constance[/name] - meh, I know a [name]Constance[/name] but I just don’t find it a pleasant sound
[name]Dorothea[/name] - meh, I like [name]Thea[/name] and [name]Dora[/name] but together they just don’t impress me, I like [name]Dot[/name] though
I like [name]Marguerite[/name] and [name]Constance[/name] ([name]Constanza[/name] is also quite nice).
[name]Eulalie[/name] looks to me as if you’ll be signing your child up to repeatedly pronounce/spell her name for people for the rest of her life. It also is the name of a less than positive character in “The [name]Music[/name] [name]Man[/name]”

[name]Marguerite[/name]- can see its appeal but find it looks ugly written out
