“Tirra lirra,” by the river
Sang Sir [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m].
If [name_m]Endymion[/name_m] is all velvet skies and stars, [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] is very woodsy, greens and browns. Maybe he’s a [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_m]King[/name_m] wearing flowers in his hair and garlands; maybe he’s a dashing knight riding through the oaks - he’s down to earth, kind and courageous. Deep inside, he’s sensitive and loving, but you won’t find anyone as brave and strong as he is. [name_f]Remember[/name_f] T.H. White’s Sir [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m]?
Here are some names I like with [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m]:
Laertes
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m] & [name_m]Edward[/name_m]
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m] (love him with anything)
[name_m]Hamish[/name_m]
[name_m]Horatio[/name_m] (love him with anything)
[name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] & [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m]
[name_f]Fawn[/name_f]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] (too girly?)
Hummingbird
[name_m]Basil[/name_m]
Nightingale

Nicknames: [name_m]Lenny[/name_m] & [name_m]Lance[/name_m]. Please shower me with combos!
I like [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Sherwood[/name_m] [name_u]Kit[/name_u], but I’m not sure if it’s too literary. [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] is beautiful, and I also like [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_u]Oberon[/name_u].
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] Nightingale/Skylark/Hummingbird (I like the alliteration, but it may be too much.)
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_u]Oberon[/name_u] [name_u]Kit[/name_u]
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] [name_m]Gawain[/name_m] (Which is a undoubtedly a little too much round table…)
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] Skylark
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m]
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_u]Oberon[/name_u] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f]

[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Hamish[/name_m] Larkspur
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] Kestrel/Darling
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Basil[/name_m] Meriwether
I love the woodsy feel of [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Sherwood[/name_m] [name_u]Kit[/name_u]! [name_m]Sherwood[/name_m] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] would work nicely as well.
I don’t think [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is too femme! I like the Idea of [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. Handsome and still woodsy but with a pinch of intrigue.
With names not from your list:
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] Kingfisher [name_m]Hamish[/name_m]
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] Kingfisher [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_u]Thames[/name_u] (I know, I know, but I couldn’t resist)
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Prospero[/name_m] Laertes or [name_m]Prospero[/name_m] [name_m]Laird[/name_m]
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] Foxglove/[name_m]Fox[/name_m]
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_u]Oberon[/name_u] [name_u]Fife[/name_u]
And I love another poster’s suggestions of [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] Darling and [name_m]Basil[/name_m] Meriweather!
sorceress; Oh, [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] Laertes [name_u]Robin[/name_u] is absolutely delicious! Laertes and [name_u]Robin[/name_u] were made for each other!
[name_f]Gwen[/name_f]; Literary is good, and too literary is even better. [name_u]Nelly[/name_u]'s middles are basically two names from The [name_u]Winter[/name_u]'s Tale and it does not bother me at al! [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you like [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] & [name_f]Willow[/name_f] for a boy. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] Nightingale, [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_u]Oberon[/name_u] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] (so foresty!!!), [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] Skylark and [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] Darling (I can soooo see myself using Darling!). [name_m]Basil[/name_m] Meriwether is all kinds of fab but I can’t make my super American husband take it on board!
brittanyanitarose; Your suggestions are always spot on! I mean, Kingfisher is probably the most delightful name in existence, nature and Arthurian at once! Also loving [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f], [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] and [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] Foxglove. I’ve toyed with the idea of [name_m]Fox[/name_m] but Foxglove is even better! And I’m glad you give the green light for [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f].
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] and [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] [name_f]Faun[/name_f] are brilliant
I had a strong Inclination that you would Like Kingfisher and Foxglove!
I definitely think there is more and better combo potential for Kingfisher but my son woke up from his nap in the middle of my post so I had to wrap it up.
And yes I absolutely endorse [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f]! I notice with name trends people are far less afraid to cross the line from masc>femme than they are to cross from femme>masc and I honestly find it to be a shame. With a lineup of strong and romantic names like [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] and earthy picks like [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m], these names seem like a no brainer as a possibility to me.
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] Nightingale [name_m]Gawain[/name_m]
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] [name_m]Hamish[/name_m]
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Sherwood[/name_m] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] (too woodsy?)
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m]
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_m]Gawain[/name_m]
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_u]Oberon[/name_u] [name_u]Kit[/name_u]
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_u]River[/name_u]
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] [name_m]Ivan[/name_m]
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] Laertes
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] Faramir [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] (I wasn’t sure if you’d be open to using Faramir as a middle or not)
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Oakes[/name_m]/[name_m]Oaks[/name_m]
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_m]Basil[/name_m]
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] Rosebay [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] (I wasn’t sure if Rosebay was too feminine but honestly [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] work so why not Rosebay?)
[name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Hamish[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m]
I love [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Sherwood[/name_m] [name_u]Kit[/name_u] and [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] by the way!
greyblue; [name_m]Endymion[/name_m] “[name_u]Teddy[/name_u]” is a BRILLIANT idea! Seriously, I love it so much I’m going to share it with my husband right away. Lack of nicknames I really loved kept me from loving [name_m]Endymion[/name_m] as much as I should have but now it’s very likely to win my heart back. Thank you thank you thank you, you’re a genius! Loving your [name_m]Hamish[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] combo, too.
brittanyanitarose; Haha naps are gooood. I’m definitely going to see what I can do with Kingfisher because he’s so great…And I don’t see what’s so bad about feminine names either. Femme is not bad, it’s just different. I so wish people did not have these double standards with girls called [name_u]James[/name_u] and boys called [name_f]Sue[/name_f] but I guess little can be done. Thank you so much once again!
gia.berry; [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_u]Oberon[/name_u] [name_u]Kit[/name_u], [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] [name_m]Ivan[/name_m], [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] Laertes and [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] Faramir [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] are fanstastic suggestions - I love Faramir as a middle, too, in fact it’s much safer that way for my child might turn out not to be a LOTR fan. And I just read [name_m]Lancelot[/name_m] Rosebay [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] aloud to my daughter, and she loved it haha! Rosebay is fab and not too feminine at all. Thank you!
Aw, I’m glad that you and your daughter like them! You have such a huge amount of fantastic options, I have no idea how you’ll be able to choose this baby’s name!
