Now that FI and I are TTC my mild guilty-pleasure interest in names has gone into Name ALL the [name]Future[/name] Babies! overdrive. I like having things lined up so I don’t have to fret about them. Ideally, I want names chosen for two of each gender…they don’t necessarily have to “match” but I like staying with the same feel.
For a long time, I had my heart set on [name]Ian[/name] [name]Gibson[/name] as a boy. [name]Gibson[/name] is a family name and I really, really want to keep it. FI and I would like to do some science honoring in the naming process, however, and this is causing an issue. Now I have my heart set on [name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] for a girl. It’s perfect in every way for us as a couple as well as hitting every style point that I care about. Which leads me to the boy problem, and the only way I can see to circumvent it and keep [name]Gibson[/name] is to use 3 names.
I’m leaning towards [name]Theon[/name] and I’m pretty sure that I can get FI on board with it, but I guess it’s negotiable (after [name]Theon[/name] of [name]Alexandria[/name]. [name]Linnea[/name] is after [name]Carolus[/name] Linneaus). Whatever goes in the girl blank should fit with [name]Gibson[/name] and whatever goes with the boy blank should sit with [name]Linnea[/name]. I’m totally stumped.
Anyone want to try their hand at filling in the blanks?
Okay, what does FI mean? I haven’t seen that acronym before.
Are there any other family names you like that could work for [name]Nova[/name]'s second middle name? Perhaps a family surname? I really like that previous suggestion of [name]Theon[/name] [name]Elliot[/name] [name]Gibson[/name].
Since [name]Linnea[/name] is based on Linnaeus, I guess I’m looking for a Latin-based name to go with [name]Theon[/name], which, in itself is Greek…and it’s a little hard to get a Latin name to flow well with [name]Gibson[/name]. sigh I might just start pulling out the [name]German[/name] baby name book.
[name]Gibson[/name] is like a turn-of-the-century popular name. I saw someone mention [name]Adele[/name], which I think fits and I’ve been throwing around. I’m just a little hesitant about it because of the singer. I’ll still keep it on the possible list.
