My Naming Dilemma (warning: wall of text)

Now that FI and I are TTC my mild guilty-pleasure interest in names has gone into Name ALL the [name]Future[/name] Babies! overdrive. I like having things lined up so I don’t have to fret about them. Ideally, I want names chosen for two of each gender…they don’t necessarily have to “match” but I like staying with the same feel.

For a long time, I had my heart set on [name]Ian[/name] [name]Gibson[/name] as a boy. [name]Gibson[/name] is a family name and I really, really want to keep it. FI and I would like to do some science honoring in the naming process, however, and this is causing an issue. Now I have my heart set on [name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] for a girl. It’s perfect in every way for us as a couple as well as hitting every style point that I care about. Which leads me to the boy problem, and the only way I can see to circumvent it and keep [name]Gibson[/name] is to use 3 names.

Girl: [name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] ______ (Lastname)
Boy: [name]Theon[/name] ______ [name]Gibson[/name] (Lastname)

I’m leaning towards [name]Theon[/name] and I’m pretty sure that I can get FI on board with it, but I guess it’s negotiable (after [name]Theon[/name] of [name]Alexandria[/name]. [name]Linnea[/name] is after [name]Carolus[/name] Linneaus). Whatever goes in the girl blank should fit with [name]Gibson[/name] and whatever goes with the boy blank should sit with [name]Linnea[/name]. I’m totally stumped.

Anyone want to try their hand at filling in the blanks?

I think of something modern, short and spunky for girl would be the best… and for boy something unusual and short.

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]June[/name] and [name]Theon[/name] [name]Kay[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Sylvie[/name] and [name]Theon[/name] [name]Eli[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Theon[/name] [name]Luca[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Fern[/name] and [name]Theon[/name] [name]Jon[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Anne[/name] and [name]Theon[/name] [name]Ned[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]

[name]Theon[/name] [name]Linus[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]August[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] Magnuns [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Emil[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Lorenzo[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Astrid[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Sloane[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Clarice[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Wynne[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Adele[/name]

We have a [name]Theon[/name] [name]Elliot[/name] and love the combo!

Okay, what does FI mean? I haven’t seen that acronym before.

Are there any other family names you like that could work for [name]Nova[/name]'s second middle name? Perhaps a family surname? I really like that previous suggestion of [name]Theon[/name] [name]Elliot[/name] [name]Gibson[/name].

[name]Theon[/name] [name]Axel[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Abram[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Valentin[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Evander[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Horatio[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Leander[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Benedict[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Pascal[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Roscoe[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Everett[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Anatole[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Matthias[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Erasmus[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Tobias[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]

I feel like I’m really off base here…

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] Camlle
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Rafferty[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Wren[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Grey[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Celeste[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Julius[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]

Haha - I just did a google search to work out what FI means. Sometimes it’s Fiancé. Correct me if I’m wrong.

lol yes, by FI I mean my fiancee.

Since [name]Linnea[/name] is based on Linnaeus, I guess I’m looking for a Latin-based name to go with [name]Theon[/name], which, in itself is Greek…and it’s a little hard to get a Latin name to flow well with [name]Gibson[/name]. sigh I might just start pulling out the [name]German[/name] baby name book.

[name]Gibson[/name] is like a turn-of-the-century popular name. I saw someone mention [name]Adele[/name], which I think fits and I’ve been throwing around. I’m just a little hesitant about it because of the singer. I’ll still keep it on the possible list.

[name]Theon[/name] [name]Maximillian[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Florian[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Falk[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]
[name]Theon[/name] [name]Henning[/name] [name]Gibson[/name]

[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Adele[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Corinne[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Linnea[/name] [name]Helene[/name]

Any love for those choices?
