Chosing a name for our third was a long fight. We considered [name_f]Vita[/name_f]/[name_f]Nina[/name_f]/[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] as a first name and [name_f]Lovisa[/name_f]/[name_u]Maj[/name_u]/[name_f]Frederika[/name_f] as a middle. We wanted something with a retro vibe to match the names of our older children and something scandinavian to honor my husband’s family. [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Frederika[/name_f] is the set we chose - what’s your opinion about it? Or could we create a better set of these names?
I love [name_f]Nina[/name_f] but not convinced it pairs well with [name_f]Frederika[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] is a better balance and is gorgeous. Would that work?
I love [name_f]Nina[/name_f]! [name_f]Frederika[/name_f] is not really my style, but it doesn’t bother me.
I think you’ve basically made up your mind! If you love it, it’s a good, solid name and goes well with the older kids, so you should use it!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite FN would be [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] and I don’t like when FN & MN end in the same sound (and IDK how to pronounce [name_u]Maj[/name_u]), but I would probably chose [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] [name_u]Maj[/name_u]. That being said, [name_f]Lovisa[/name_f] is lovely, as is [name_f]Frederika[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Fredericka[/name_f]. [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Fredericka[/name_f] is nice though. [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] doesn’t go very well with [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]. If you wanted a perfect pairing, I would go with [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] & [name_f]Vita[/name_f]. But [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] & [name_f]Nina[/name_f] or [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] & [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] go very well. I would say [name_f]Nina[/name_f] is the best option with [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] & [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m].
[name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Frederika[/name_f] is lovely. There’s the light, fun and springy [name_f]Nina[/name_f], and the grounded and sophisticated [name_f]Frederika[/name_f] - they work together very well.
I will say, however, that [name_f]Nina[/name_f] does seem a touch mismatched with [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] and [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m], more-so with [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] than [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]. [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] has that weightiness to her that [name_f]Nina[/name_f] (and [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]) doesn’t. Not a big deal though, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that.
[name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Frederika[/name_f] is lovely, refreshingly unexpected but still familiar. I think [name_f]Nina[/name_f] goes well with [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] and [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m], [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] is a bit more unusual than [name_f]Nina[/name_f] but they both have a nice vintage, strong-but-feminine vibe to them.
I love [name_f]Nina[/name_f]! Very nice, congrats!
It doesn’t get zippier than [name_f]Frederika[/name_f]! Especially the [name_u]Fritzi[/name_u] nickname. [name_f]Nina[/name_f] travels well across languages, and is familiar but underused - surprising, with how other short-and-sweets like [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] have taken off. I like it!
I love it! I would have considered [name_f]Nina[/name_f] myself if my husband liked it at all. [name_f]Frederika[/name_f] is one of those names I like but would never use as a first name; there just aren’t any nicknames I would really like and it is a bit clunky to use in full. It’s a perfect middle name though!
I really like [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Frederika[/name_f]! [name_f]Nina[/name_f] is one of my favourite names, and the strength of [name_f]Frederika[/name_f] helps give it more substance. It’s definitely my favourite possible combination out of what could’ve been made with the names you listed.
I like [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Frederika[/name_f]!
With [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] as an older sister I might have gone with [name_f]Vita[/name_f] Frederike over [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Frederika[/name_f].
But [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Frederika[/name_f] is a nice combo.
Thank you all for sharing your opinions! I’m still not 100 % sure if [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Frederika[/name_f] is the name we will register. I think about the names I mentioned in my previous post - [name_f]Vita[/name_f] as the first and [name_f]Lovisa[/name_f]/[name_f]Lovise[/name_f] as the middle ([name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] is rather the one to left behind). [name_f]My[/name_f] little wonder is 4 days old, so we have some time to discuss, but I’m so confused now!
I like [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Frederika[/name_f]! I think it sounds lovely.
Hm. [name_f]Nina[/name_f] is so sweet! Would you consider [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] over [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]? I think [name_f]Zelda[/name_f], [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m], and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] work very well together, and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is my favorite off your list (even though it wasn’t really on your list). [name_f]Vita[/name_f] is strong like [name_f]Zelda[/name_f], but doesn’t seem to hold the history of [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] or [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]. So, I think something like [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Lovisa[/name_f] or even [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Frederika[/name_f] would be nice. ([name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] would be gorgeous, too.)
I’ve always disliked the name Nina, so I would say go for a different name. I think Vita goes better with Zelda and Dashiell. I really like Vita Frederika and Vita Lovise.
Or what about Vita Signe, Vita Dagny, Vita Freja, Vita Ingrid, Vita Lorelei, Vita Marit, Vita Sunniva?
I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Nina[/name_f] or [name_f]Frederika[/name_f] but there’s nothing wrong with them, there just not my style. I personally prefer [name_f]Vita[/name_f] with [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] and [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m].
